My husband received his packet 4!!!!! His interview is on March 19th. I was planning to go there on March 29th for my vacation from work, I don't know whao t to do. I really want to be at the interview with him. How long does it normally take to be issued the actual visa???? I want to be at the interview and would love to fly home with my husband, but I have work. I can miss afew days, but not a whole week!!! I need suggestions and wait times from visa interview to visa in hand.

Thank you!

I am so exciited, but just want to do the right things the right way!

Congrats!!!!! That's great to hear! Wow, lots of good news flying around today. Ask the Consulate how they go about issuing Visas. Each is different. If it's a day or so like Sydney, then go there on the 18th and stay as long as you can. Is he ready to leave immediately after getting the Visa?

I agree with vylex. Call the U.S. Embassy and ask what their typical timeline is from approval to visa in hand. I know many countries will issue them right away or within a couple of days after the interview. So, check that out and if they are currently doing next day turnarounds or close to that then I would change my vactaion days (if possible) and go to the interview. That way you are both there to represent your marriage and then you can fly back with him.

Best of luck and keep us posted!!! smile.gif

I'm so glad that you finally have your interview. Our interview was on a Thursday and he was able to pick the visa up the next Wednesday. He then flew out two days later on Friday. Good luck and I'll be thinking about you.
