So I've accepted that my K-3 will be at Missouri for a lil while until they decide to send it to Vermont. What I want to know is....the message that I'm getting is that Missouri is a service center, but then when I lookup the timeframes on the uscis site missouri doesn't come up at all as a service center. Only Vermont, Cali, Texas and Nebrasca.

CherylandMike is correct. The MSC (missouri Service Center) is now known as the NBC (National Benefits Center).

Others regard MSC as a distribution center... tongue_ss.gif

"National Benefits Center" .... that's a good one! LOL
Missouri is where all the checks & money orders are "cleared" -- think of it as "THE BANK"

Well if they're just the bank why on earth would they show that they're working on Aug '06 I wonder?

Thats what I'm confused about also. According to other members here the I129F petition goes to Chicago first then to Missouri and then to either Vermont or California. What i don't understand is where exactly is the petition processed? I checked the Vermont and California processing times and it doesn't even list the times for K3 visa which most people here are applying for. It only list times for K1 visa. Only place it show processing time for K3 visa is on Missouri processing times. So does that mean Misourri approves the application and not Vermont or California? Also if they do why send it to Vermont or California?

doodlebug - we have the exact time line except you sent the I129F on 12th instead of 9th as i did.
riblet
Chicago is the "lockbox"... I always understood this to be where the checks were cashed, the file was given a cursory review for completeness and then forwarded to Missouri for processing.

But, since the new USCIS policy of streamlining I130 and I129F petitions was initiated in October, the I129F is sent to the service center where the I130 already is. They have yet to update the processing dates site to reflect the new policy. As you have probably already seen, most people now have both petitions approved at the same time, and the I130 is retained.

Hope this helps smile.gif

beameup,

riblet is correct - the fee payment processing is taken care of in Chicago, not in Missouri, by the lockbox section of the NBC.

I received the same email today. It would be cool if both of out petitions are approved on the same day. Also I'll keep a watch on your progress too.
