Hi everyone,

Just wanted to update those that knew I was in Belize for the last week with my husband and that we were going to try for a tourist visa. For those that aren't familiar...my husband and I live in Belize and weren't ready to immigrate here yet because we have a small business there that needs our attention. I, however, have to be in the states for awhile due to family needs. So, we wanted to get Dean a travel visa so he could come back and forth with me when he could.

Well, the embassy in Belize gave us a big fat NO crying.gif I was so upset. I asked the CO what we should do and he just said that I should go ahead and file the I-130 for him. That's fine and all but it's just that we just got done telling them that we don't want Dean to immigrate here yet and now I am going to turn around and start the I-130 process just after being denied the travel visa!? I hope that doesn't look too suspicious. We honestly weren't trying to shortcut the process in any way at all. But I hope they understand that I am going to file immediately anyway because I really need my husband to start going back and forth with me. What do you guys think?

I then asked if they are accepting the I-130's directly at that embassy yet, since technically we both live in Belize. But unfortunately DCF has not come back to Belize at this time. So...hopefully I can get the paperwork together for the petition in the next week and join all of you in this painful rat race. These petitions are so miserable and I know all of you feel it everyday. I hated doing the I-129F back in 2004 and I"m kicking myself for cancelling it when I moved to Belize.

So, let me know if you have any questions or advice. Even though I'm not new at this I may be coming to you guys for some petition questions since it has been awhile for me. Thanks!!!

Erin
