My wife is about to file her I-751 to remove her conditions on her permanent residency. On the form, it asks her to put down other names - should she put down her before marriage name? Also, for the address on section 1 - we are planning on using two seperate addresses - 1) our real apartment address for the address section and 2) our new P.O. Box address for our mailing address. We recently had a PO Box address issued for us because we just bought a new house and it is being constructed right now and the closing time could vary from June to anytime in September at latest. So we decided to play it safe and have all our mail sent to a PO Box address. Now, a friend of mine, who filed his I-751 form last year told me that INS might find it kind of weird that we are using a PO Box as our mailing address and it may raise some questions? I wanted to know how you guys feel about that and if its worth the risk of me changing my address after moving into our house and possibly losing some mail? Or am I overanalyzing this and my friend is just scaring me. Should I provide some additional statement with our I-751 form with me and my wife on that we just bought a new house which is being built and we are using a PO Box address to get all our important mail sent there?

Yes, you are supposed to state her maiden name in the "other names used" section of the form.

As for the PO Box address, I can't really give you any advise, but common sense tells me that it shouldn't be a major problem as many people use PO boxes. It probably would only raise an eyebrow if the evidence submitted would be rather weak.

I guess since no-one is replying, it can't be too much of an issue to use the PO Box. So why don't you go ahead and use it, and you could always include a short paragraph on your cover letter to explain since you are moving/buliding a house, you are using a PO Box.

I'm in the same boat... we will move at least twice during filing and could either have everythign sent to a friend's house or a po box. to me the po box might pose a risk of leading to a raised flag but who knows..I have seen people use them with no problems at all..

That's what i'm talking about - P.O. Box as mailing address or not thats the big question?? Some people think its fine and some don't. What if I provide a statement saying that we will get all our mail sent to our PO Box address because we will be moving soon because of our house being constructed and closing date is prone to change (which it is likely)?

There are many people in the US who have no choice and have to use a PO box as they have no mail delivery to their houses.

It is not a problem to use a PO Box address as a mailing address.
