Hi all just wanted to let everyone know I made it here to WA. to wait out my interview time with Lorry.
I had no problems going through US Customs and Immigration. They asked the usual stuff "where you going, for how long, what do you do for a living, ever been to the US before and when"
I was a bit concerned they would question the length of stay ( 2 1/2 mon. ) It didn't seem to be so much of a big deal afterall. I'll be here in WA. till May 12. Hopefully Montreal will have something for me by then.

While I am in here I do have a question I'm wondering about. Does the form 230 part 2 come with packet 4 or do I have to download it ? I did get a form 230 part 1 with packet 3 but no part 2 form

Take care everyone good luck Thanks
Allie and Lorry

Glad you made it there. smile.gif

You don't need to fill out DS-230 Part II, just DS-230 Part I.

Return that and your checklist (and whatever else they need now) as soon as possible because Montreal is still horribly slow!

ETA: nevermind, you already returned packet 3. wink.gif

Lucky you being able to wait together, I'm glad there was no problem at the border.

K1's do not fill out the DS230 part II, that's for immigrant visas only.

Have a nice stay smile.gif

I'm jealous. I got denied twice.

Have a great time!!

I'm guessing you're flagged because of your first denial when you had already been living in the U.S. came back and tried to re-enter.

What ties to Canada did you show the other time you tried to cross?

Congrats!!

The first time I didn't have a return ticket. I knew nothing about the Visa process then, I thought being Married would make everything so easy! I learned that lesson the hard way.
The second time I had letters, bank account statements, Alberta drivers licence, etc. They still denied me.

Yeah, it sounds like they denied you based on the first time. That sucks. Is Mel able to come up and visit you often? I know he came up a little while ago.

The one piece of evidence that border guards consistently seem to love is the letter from the employer. For some reason it makes the feel very confident... don't ask my why, it's not even real letterhead.

The last time Michael and I crossed together the guy was suspicious, but after we gave him that he just laughed when I asked if he wanted to see the return ticket, and said something like he didn't need to see anymore.

I figure it shows that we're prepared, and it gives them something to cover their ###.

I always have a letter from my work and most recent pay stubs AND my entire case file (getting heavier by the day) and a whole bunch of other crap like utility bills.

Only one more visit (Thursday) until my interview... *crosses fingers for a good POE*
MissStacey
The next time I will see him is when I have my Visa in hand and I get off the plane in New Orleans. He started a new job in August, so he was lucky he got those few days off to see me in January.

I just started a new job that I am really enjoying- at a flower shop. It is fun, casual, and low stress. Most of my hair equipment and nicer clothes are still at Mel's. I am really enjoying trying something new right now. And I won't have to feel guilty when I give my notice- they are closing this shop down in August. They also own one of the Greenhouses here, so I always have the option of working in the Greenhouse too.
