I do not have my long version of my Birth Certificate translated. In fact, I just recieved it today. I have my short version (wallet size), translated, certified and notarized.
Interview is TOMORROW!
So here is my idea and I was wondering if anyone can give me their opinion.
I can have the long version translated tonight. But I can't have it notarized, plus the notary has to see the original birth certificate before he signs and seals the document.
What do you think will happen? The document will be translated but I will not have it notarized?

This is what I would do.........
I'd go to that interview, explain what happened and that all you have left to do is get the notary stamp. There's a strong likelihood they will let you return later that day with the notarization and then they can complete the approval of the visa.
Good Luck tomorrow!!!
I sure hope you get some rest tonight

I totally agree with CutinPurg - go for the interview at the appointed time with the Long Form in French -- if they require it (and I imagine that anyone passing the Foreign Service Exam and ending up in Montral MUST SPEAK FRENCH) get it translated later. It might be a few day delay . . .

I just got the Birth Certificate translated by certified translator. The only thing I am missing is a notary seal and signature.
I think Im about to sit in a pathetic puddle and cry!!!!

You've done everything you can... and HONESTLY worst case scenario they will ask for a notarized copy and you will have it to them in a few days and you will have your visa maybe by next week!!
Everything will be okay, GOOD LUCK TOMORROW!! You know we're all rooting for you.

Thanks, I really, really appreciate all of your help. Everyone has been extremely supportive. I would not have noticed the error/missing birth certificate if someone had not mentioned it on Sunday. Life saver! THANKYOU ALL

Good luck!! I have read on VJ about a fellwo VJ'er that required an updated RCMP background check!! they were able to leave the consulate and come back later that day with the document, and got the visa. Most likely they would also know where you could get this done. Hope it all goes well, and sure it will.
