Hello everybody,
I started my DCF I-130 process in Frankfurt on Jan 12, 2007. This process, if you doing it in person at the embassy, it is a 2 step process: first you go to the embassy with your relative to file a petition with the DHS, second step it is to collect the papers for the visa interview.
So, we went to Frankfurt and my husband filed the petition for me on Jan 12, 2007. After 10 days, i had collected all the documents from the list embassy gave it to me on jan 12. And I faxed the sheet they asked me to fax just to let them now i am ready. i did my medical too and the embassy received my results.
Meanwhile, my husband had to go to the States (PCS orders). I am "delayed" on the orders so I am staying here only for this process.
They told me from the Homeland Security Office that it takes 4-6 weeks for the petition to be processed. It is 6 weeks already, I called today the embassy and they didn't receive yet my petition from DHS. Hope it will not take too long!
If any of you is going throu the same process right now I would like to exchange usefull information. Thank you!

Did your I-130 petition get approved the day you were there? I mailed a I-130 on behalf of my husband to Frankfurt in December, and we just heard back a few days ago. I've heard it's faster if you file in person, as you can be approved the very same day. But I don't understand: are you waiting for I-130 approval or for an interview appointment? The interview appointment, per Consulate's guidelines, can take 6 weeks or more for them to schedule. But if you have a case number, you can inquire via email. Do you have a case number? I'm assuming so, as you would have needed it to complete the checklist before you faxed it to Frankfurt. If so, my guess is that you will probably hear soon. Good luck!

No, the petition was not approved in the same day, let me tell you what they told me about this I-130 process (when i'm saying "they" i'm talking about the embassy personnel). My husband filed the petition at the embassy and the embassy sent it to the USCIS office in Frankfurt, it takes between 4-6 weeks to be approved by the USCIS (or I guess longer cause i have already 6 weeks and it was not processed yet). After it is approved, USCIS will send it to the embassy visa section and the embassy will send me a letter for the interview in aprox 2 weeks. After the interview (if all good and i get the visa) they will mail me the passport with my visa in a week (depends how fast is the post office).
Any questions don't hesitate to ask...... or you have news about, let me know.

and yes they gave me a case number from the start, all papers done, just waiting for USCIS to approve and aleluia the interview. I see your petition was approved in 2 month more or less, now you're waiting for the interview. I feel it takes longer when you file by mail but let's see if it is faster doing this process in person.

I believe they used to be able to process them in person more quickly, based on other members posts who filed through Frankfurt. (You should check out members germlish, zauberblume, candace, to see a few people's experiences doing DCF through Frankfurt.) Ours may have been faster except we were asked to submit proof that our relationship was bonafide. In any case, I'll keep you posted. Good luck with yours! I did read on one website about Frankfurt USCIS that it is currently taking 60-90 days for the I-130 to be adjudicated. This is longer than the numbers given on the embassy's website.

I too am a military spouse (non-German) who filed DCF in Frankfurt, so I guess our cases are pretty similar. I think from reading your posts that the delay you speak of is in adjudicating your I-130, so they have been unable to process your checklist and give you an interview date despite your being ready to go, until they get the 'go-ahead' that the I-130 has been approved. This has been caused by the recent changes in legislation to incorporate the Adam Walsh Act and has meant that your I-130, rather than being adjudicated on the day you visited the Embassy, has had to be sent 'somewhere' - a delay which appears (as Mary stated above) to be taking 60-90 days right now. All I think you can do right now is keep checking back with Frankfurt (despite their taking an age to answer the phone, I have always found them very helpful.)

I have a tradition to call the embassy every week to check the status of my case. they are very nice and prompt on the phone, they told me they are ready they are waiting only for I-130 to come back from "upstairs" (USCIS office). i called USCIS office, last time i succeeded to find somebody on the phone was on Feb 7th since then only voice mail.
Where you from Candace? Cause I am not german. And my husband works like civillian for the US army.
The most difficult thing connected with this process is "waiting and waiting and waiting".

She did, however, answer my question regarding which petitions were now being adjudicated--ones submitted in early December.

Thank you Mary G, I sent an email to uscis frankfurt yesterday, but I guess they are not in a rush to answer back. This week will be 7 weeks since we started so I guess very soon they have to approve my I-130. I see yours was approved in aprox 2 months maybe the same for me.

No news on the interview yet, but then we just faxed our checklist yesterday. I'm guessing it will be at least a week or more before we hear anything. We're excited though, because we're not headed to the States until June 27th, so it should work out in time. I hope yours goes quickly and that you're reunited with your sweetheart soon.

I am just new on this forum and want to ask the members of this topic something about the re-approvals at the USCIS in Frankfurt. The Amsterdam Consulate has sent the Dutch I-130 petitions to USCIS Frankfurt for re-approval due to the Adam Walsh act. The Consulate said they have sent our I-130 petitions around Jan 25 to Frankfurt so this is about 5 weeks ago now. How long do you guys think it takes to get re-approved by the USCIS and be ready for further processing by the Amsterdam Consulate? So far the Amsterdam Consulate haven't been able to provide any information about the processing times in Frankfurt and they also strongly disencourage dutch applicants to get in contact with USCIS Franfurt for more information.
I (and some other Dutch applicants) did it the DCF-way and our I-130's got accepted around Nov/Dec, dunno if this matters for the processing times. Anyone got an idea how much longer it will take before our I-130 petitions will get approved by USCIS Frankfurt?? Any information that can help?! Thanks for any response!
