Hi everyone,

Here is my situation...When I went for my greencard interview in Brazil, I still had my maiden name on my passport. But as soon as I got to the US I was able to get a new passport with my married name. Now I have received my greencard and it has my maiden name on it. To get a new greencard with my married name, I need to pay US$ 260, which sucks. To me that's a total rip off. My husband and I are planning a trip abroad in August and I'm really afraid that if I leave the country with my greencard with a different name than on my passport they will give me a hard time when I try to get back into the US or that they'll not let me in. Has anyone been in this situation? What's your advice? Thank you!

just bring along your marriage certificate and make sure and buy the plane ticket using the name in your passport....

my passport is in my maiden name, and my greencard is in my married name.. I've never had a problem before... Just take your marriage license along with you and im sure you'll be fine...
