I have a SSN, but on my card I have the note it is not valid for work.
Now..once I recieve my EAD card, do I need to get a new, updated SSN card?

You can just show employers your EAD, once you have your green card, then you can go get it taken off.

the message on your card will be changed after you get your green card and bring it to the SS office-even though the EAD authorizes you to work, you would still have to have a restriction notice on your card whereas with a green card there is no restriction on the card-so you will save yourself a trip.
