I have no idea if this has been done...but has there ever been a bay area visa journey meet-up? It coule be a get-together for anyone on visa journey who is anywhere along the journey...including people whose spouses are not here yet...it coule be fore support, answering questions, making new friends, etc.

We're Ilana and Steven and we live in San Francisco. Steven arrived here (from Belize) September 13th 2006 and is still awaiting his EAD and his residency interview is April 2nd. What about the rest of you bay area people?

A Bay Area meet-up sounds like a great idea!

I arrived here from Toronto in Sept 2006 and just received my Green Card earlier this month. Aside from volunteering at VITAS Hospice, I haven't had the opportunity of meeting people in the area.

Jason and I (Emily) live in the Sonoma county, in Petaluma. He's in his early 30s and I'm turning a quarter of a century old in a couple of weeks We're both shy and open-minded, and we love animals! Jas' more of a computer geek type, and I guess I'm a teacher-type as I used to teach high school English and sciences. We do have a diverse array of interests and weird musical tastes, and we don't bite (except maybe each other)

Please tell us a bit about yourselves, if you're comfortable doing so!

PS - Ilana's a cool name... do you pronounce it ee-laun-nah, or eye-laun-nah, or ee-lain-nah?

Sure I might be interested in a Bay Area meet up. It gets pretty lonely living where I do and no one here with me yet, so I could use some socialization. On the other hand I'm not much of a party person so it'd be easier if my wife could go with me also, but she won't be here until June or July maybe. But anyone...

By the way Ilana I don't know if you're in San Francisco or Santa Cruz, as your profile says, but I'm just right down here in Watsonville, so maybe you're the closest to me I've seen on VJ so far.
