WOW I thought the journey was rough. I just sold my home yesterday so now life is in kaos yet again. I have interview on march 8th and have to be out of my house by april 10th. I won"t be moving till july 2nd there abouts. so moving in with my parents which is more stress. Think fighting for computer time is the worse. Plus dad is having knee surgery april 11th and eye surgery the week before that. OMG will i survive i was hoping to travel to the U.S. for march end to see hubby. I'm just destressing here i'm sure most of us have similar stories Please add them to this so i'll know i'm not alone . Take care all.

I know exactly how you feel.

Like many people here (especially in the Canada forum I've seen) I've made a lot of decisions based on the interview date and prior to receiving my visa in hand. Everyone says you shouldn't make decisions until that happens but logistically and financially, I had to do it (putting in notice at work, notice of my apartment, arranging movers, etc.).

If worse comes to worse and I don't get that visa, I'll be jobless, homeless, husbandless and living with (ugh) my parents who I'm not even really close to.

More stress... I'm going to be a f***ing wreck before and at the interview. Luckily, my husband is flying out to be with me for that, so that will definitely help.

I feel your pain smile.gif I'm in my final semester of law school, have to write a huge stupid paper, take care of my two dogs and my house by myself... will probably have to try to figure out how to sell the house while my husband is still in Canada and possibly move everything on my own.

We've been living apart for 17 months, it is so frustrating! I hate to have to always be looking to the future, and not able to be totally content in the now, but I am really really looking forward to this summer - who cares if I"ll be studying for the bar exam, at least school will be over and Michael and I should be together barring any Montreal screw ups!

Hey Sandy, what type of law are you going to specialise in?
riblet
anything but immigration! lol

But seriously, I'm actually going into general practice which I'm really excited about. Not many people get to do that anymore. But I could definitely see doing some immigration since I've learned so much about it already smile.gif It would probably be mostly pro bono in this area, it's relatively rural and there are probably more illegal immigrants here than legal.

Are you sure you don't want to get into immigration law? You could be our resident lawyer here! tongue.gif

This whole process is stressful!!! For me, I had moved from Georgia to New Hampshire during the summer to begin a new job. My then fiance was able to come with me to help find a house to buy. We lived in my mom's RV from June until September (and let me tell you, it was not a huge 5th wheel with pullouts or anything; we are talking SMALL). Closed on our house in September, had a HUGE hassle with the moving company and had difficulty getting our furniture, began the visa process in October. He went back to BC and then the plan was that he would come to visit in December for the holidays. He was denied entry then. He had been my biggest support system here, since my good friends were all back in Georgia, so that really was hell with him being denied. Oh yeah, since I moved here, I have been sicker than ever, catching every bug that goes around. The job is good and I am glad that I made the move, but I have a contract with the National Health Services Corps and am limited in time off from work. I have used so much for sick days and trips to Canada that I am in the red!!!

At least he is here now and we are legally wed!!!!
