Hi Everyone,
Good luck on your immigration journey. What an interesting message thread, indeed. In answer to the question, my vote is:
"Other": A B2 Visitor's Visa
We then got married, filed for an AOS (Adjustment of Status)/I-130 and then I got my Green Card shortly afterwards.
Hey, who knew that a short visit to the USA would turn into a lifetime of living here? Lol...I guess the spontaneous and untraditional route worked for us. However, for everyone else, no matter what the situation, I would recommend hiring an immigration lawyer (which we did too)....

The correct answer here would be 'none - he is a US citizen and as such doesn't need one'... but I hope I'm allowed to answer for myself (the non-USC), in which case - K1!

We used the Cr1 visa..
we had applied for the K3 visa too but our lawyer totally screwed it up so we ended up waiting for the CR1 visa... which is probably the better visa of the two anyways....

Savanphil,
Point of clarification - CR1 and IR1 are not different types of visa, they are the same visa.
