Hello everyone, I hope everybody is well with their family and all. I would like your advise if possible, and here is my case:

This coming september (2007) I am supposed to file to lift the conditions. I will do so in september. Since I am joining the Marines most likely I will be sent overseas for at least 15 months. Do I have to worry aboput immigration process while I am abroad?? Next, I know that after they receive my application to remove conditions, I get one year extra so I can go overseas. Do you guys thing or heard anything like my case before? If so pls help. Thank you very much for your time and consideration.

Thank you.

I recall that you can't join up until you have completed your Removal of Conditions (had it approved). Do you know something different? Always eager to learn...

No I did not know that, but I will be going to the local USCIS to ask that question though!!

Hello,

There are some different rules applying to Active Duty Military Personnel with regard to immigration. If USCIS can't help you, talk to your recruiter who should be able to obtain information for you. There is also an expedite available for your citizenship if you are Active Duty, I think there is info on the USCIS website.

Best wishes and good luck with your military career!

i'm sure it's OK with them. I thought it was the Armed Forces that had the problem with the conditional status.

Good luck!

Just saw this thread whilst searching for some other information, and thought I'd throw in my $0.02 as I've researched this issue a lot - you don't have to remove the conditions in order to join the Navy, Army, or Marines...the USAF specifically requires that you have lifted the conditions, the Coast Guard I've yet to find out, but am checking with recruiters. If you need links to the recruiting manuals where it tells you this, let me know good.gif
