My intervew was done on 20.12.2006 and all was fine they asked me to send 2 docments which i send next day after that they called me and said they need 2 more docments which took time to get them and during this time we called embassy and told them that we working on the docments they requested and asked after send the requested docmnets how long it will take them to issuee visa they said 2 week so on 4.02.2007 we send the requested docments and on 17.02.2007 we emailed them to ask if they got the docments and now when they can issuee visa they answered our email as below.
Dear Ms. Deland,
Pls note that we have received the requested documents from Mr. jaffri. However the case is still going through the process and until the completion of all the procedures the visa will not be issued. We are in the process of going through the entire file of Mr. jaffri. As soon as there is an update or in case of completion of our procedures we will contact Mr. Jaffri of the result immediately. At the moment we do not know how long will it take for the procedures to be completed and visa to be issued.

Did they ever indicate that you would be going through administrative processing, i.e. security checks? I'd be shocked if you didn't and no one knows how long those take since it's all dependent on whether or not you get a name hit.

We have been waiting for 2 month now ( Dec. 14 interview ) and were told
by DOS we are in Administrative processing....not security checks or name checks.
They don't know how long it will take, DOS said maybe months, 1 year, even 2 years.
Our case is in the fraud prevention unit at the embassy to "determine visa eligibility".
I call DOS every 2 weeks and hear the same thing.......case not completed !
The embassy did not keep his passport and did not ask for any other proof or documents,
we had everything.

Feels like forever doesn't it?

"Administrative process" includes security checks, information validation, and other things they feel they need to do. If you do a search on this forum, you will find a lot of indepth information about it. Because each individual's history/situation is unique the embassies usually won't speculate on the time frame involved because it will vary. The unfortunate part of waiting out processing is that there is no information available to DOS or to you until it's completed. Good luck to you, be patient, it will conclude.

My Passport with embassy which i send it the 1st time i send the docments as they asked me to send passport with the docments that i send 1st time and till now with them and they did not said AP or secuirt check or any thing eles as u can read what they said in the email hope it wont take long and Riyadh embassy realy dont have many K1 cases in months 1 or 2.
