I filed my wife's I-751 to Vermont in the last week of January. All I have received so far from USCIS is "Finger Print Receipt Notification" back on the February 3rd. The postmark on envelope was on 2/1/2007.

There is a application number on this piece of paper that starts with EAC. But this number, including EAC, is 12 characters long. I tried to find the status of this number on USCIS website, but the site tells me that the EAC number must be 13 characters long.

There is also another distinct EAC number on the paper! This one is 13 characters long. When I enter this second number in the USCIS website box, I get invalid case number error.

Someone plesae tell me what is this piece to paper I have? Where can I find status of my application? I am totally confused here.

FYI - My check was cashed in the last week of January.

My husband rang USCIS and they informed him that there is a glitch in the computer system at the moment, they are trying to get it fixed, some numbers will go through and some will not, I have both mine and my daughter's case numbers but only my daughter's is recognized, keep trying it may take a couple of weeks!!!

edit to say that it is the 13 character you will need, mine starts with WAC (california) 1234567890 (example)
