I would like some suggestions on CD's or web links to find soothing,
relaxing African music.
I am a Massage Therapist and always looking to find
interesting yet quiet tunes for my clients to relax to during their treatments.
I mostly have the happy, fast and upbeat African songs and can't find the slow and soulful
ones more suitable for the atmosphere.

Anyone has any suggestions on some soulful slower African tunes ?

I like naijapolis.net or duduradio.com

I asked my fiance today for some music ideas for you. He said Kojo Antwi, or I've also seen it spelt Kwadjo Antwi. He didn't give any specific cd titles, he just said his old cd. You could go to ghanamv.com and listen to his music. They have his name spelt as Kwadjo on that site. Under popular tags to the right of the little screen, you'll find his name, to view a few of his songs.
He said he'll be thinking of some more if you dont like any of those. He said do I have your address, I said no, why? lol, He wants to make you a cd. I told him if you dont find anything, maybe he can mail it to me and I'll send it on. Ok talk with you later

The Best African Music to relax to is African American if you ask me
ReggaeDancer2
African Highlife and More - you can get it at Amazon.

Kojo Antwi is very good but most of the songs are love songs.....

Angelique Kidjo is good, but sometimes she is loud - don't know if all of her songs would be good for massage therapists to use.

Cesaria Evora is good - she sings in Portuguese, very relaxing.

Bernard Woma: very relaxing and not in a Kenny-G way! smile.gif He plays traditional instruments. http://bernardwoma.com/

There's a Ghanaian Highlife singer, Ofori Amponsah, who is relaxing to me. I love his music.

You can....just take your CD to a massage therapist in your area.....we don't mind
if clients bring their own music.

Thank you all for your suggestions.....I want them all smile.gif

My fiance just suggested Prince Eyango www.eyango.com

I also like Sarah Brightman's HAREM CD ......very Mena and even though it has a sometimes faster rythm, it is still very 'dreamy' almost puts you in a trance during massage. wink.gif
