Joined today, and looking forward to sharing stories with others! I'm from Westland, MI, and my fiancee' is from Ontario, Canada. We filed the I-129F on 2/6, so we're just starting and my head is SWIMMING unsure.gif. Fortunately, we have an immigration attorney to help us through the sea of madness. Ours will be tricky as my fiancee' drives truck from Windsor to the US on a daily basis, so we broke down and paid a professional. Looking forward to hearing from others...is there anyone with the same geography ? (Michigan/Canada)

Welcome!

My SO and I have related geography. I'm in Canada, but I'm in BC. And he's in MI (and I'm on my way there).

There's lots to learn here. Read the guides (see the tab at the top) and browse the relevant forums, and you'll learn a lot that way.

You may also find the Canada forum useful.

Welcome! We live in the mid-Michigan area.

Why do you say 'fortunately'? Many on here who have employed attorneys have been very unfortunate.

I just found the Canada forum, thanks! good.gif

That doesn't sound very promising! But I know what you mean, and quite frankly I'm not a fan of lawyers (sorry lawyers!), which is why I joined VJ...keep up on the inside poop while they work out the kinks...thanks, and good luck!

Welcome! I am from Edmonton and my husband is from New Orleans.

VJ has been great! I have access all the info I need here. I have learned alot here in the last few months, but there is still more I need to learn. Me and my husband were clueless about immigration when we got married.

From what I've read so far, that seems fairly quick! Sure hope ours goes as smooth, but doubtful since we have to go to Montreal blink.gif
