Can any one tell me when our case will have a number. We are doing K3/family visa and recieved one reciept after the initial paperwork was sent out. Last week, the other portion of paperwork was sent out...so...are we waiting for the NOA2? Is that the point at which we will have a case number? Thanks for any help

You will receive your case number from the national visa center who receives your petition after the USCIS approves it.

With receipt of the NOA1, you should see a Receipt Number that is the "case number" until you get to the National Visa Center (NVC). For now, send out your paperwork for the I-129F. After that, you should receive the NOA2 and be sent soon after to the NVC. Then the NVC wil assign a case number to you.
