had a fantastic weekend, went fell climbing and nearly got myself stuck at a particularly tricky part, but made it in the end. Once at the top, the views were unbelievable, all over Coniston Water and the villages. Fantastic
Trouble was, and big trouble!!! it snowed over night and there must have been between 18" and 2 foot of the stuff. Picture postcard beautiful but the darn batteries had run out on my camera so couldn't take any snaps
Was the most harrowing experience trying to get out of the village and up towards the motorway, 15 miles of country lanes, up and down dale all the time the snow was getting thicker and I had to take the hills in first, at times we were all over the place, good job nobody was coming down!!! It took some real skillful driving and I must say I am well pleased with myself.
Finally made it to a good A road and thought we were home and dry so to speak,( even though the snow ploughs and gritters hadn't been out yet,) to find a massive traffic jam and everybody was turning round and going back again.
Still it was an adventure and to come home and find we have been "touched" Feel good all ove now
