I just wanted to inform everyone, especially those that are preparing their documents for the embassy interview in Manila. My fiancee just left the embassy a few hours ago , Friday Philippine time , one of the documents they asked her for was the CENOMAR certificate, which is a certificate from the National Office of Statistics declaring that she is single and eligible to marry. The important thing to remember is that this document is not mentioned anywhere in any of the correspondence from the embassy as a required document, so if you were not informed by someone prior to your interview, you would have no idea that this is also a requirement and the lack of this document could conceivable delay the interview process, she was asked about 10 questions in her interview with the main focus on questions relating to me. Her K1 was approved and the visa will be delivered by Delbros as soon as its released by the embassy. Best of luck to everyone and remember to bring all your required documents and answer all your questions truthfully, then you can be assured that your application will be approved.

One quick question: was your fiance married before she met you? If so, maybe thats why they asked for that document...

Thanks for the warning, though, I am aware that some consuls ask for CERNOMAR during the interview. I already got one since we sent a copy of it in our original K1 application just to prove that I am legal to marry and never been married.

Congratulations on your fiancee's approval! It's good to see a fellow Filipina about to join her SO!

Hi Steve, I believe that certificate is called the certificate of singleness issued by the nso. Maybe they have another name for it. My wife was there at the embassy too and passed the interview friday. Congratulations, Archie

CENOMAR is an acronym for CERTIFICATE OF NO MARRIAGE. We included that together with my BC when we filed the petition at USCIS, but since i have kids and never been married im sure the CO will going to ask for a CENOMAR or better yet, they will going to put me on AR and try to request one directly from the NSO. But, we are hoping that they will consider the one im going to supply them during my interview, i am thinking to attached the official receipt issued by the NSO when i requested for one for them to know that its for real, not the one from the street of C.M. RECTO. I guess that's the main reason why sometimes the CO rejected the CENOMAR that is being showed to them. But anyway, no one will risk about being denied because of fraud...what do you think guys?

A heartfelt CONGRATULATIONS to those who got approved! good.gif You deserved it guys! GOOD LUCK to those who will have their interviews next week. And to those who are still waiting for the interview dates( includes me) well, keep on praying! GOD hear every prayer, especially from those who are meek and humble!

Hello PW
Yes you are right the do mention the CENOMAR as a required document, my fiancee failed to notice it but luckily someone she met at St Lukes informed her about it. I am really sorry to hear that your visa was denied and that you have to start the process all over again, its such a long and painful process.

No she was never married before, however, they asked her for this document, luckily she had it with her.
