And I must say that the most exciting part of it was that the Wiggles were at the consulate getting their Visa's too! LOL! The kids were thrilled.. I wasnt since my morning sickness is so bad I almost threw up on a wiggle, but that's another story.

I'm sad to say that we've come home without any Visa's at all sad.gif We were missing one really important document for the I-864, which sucks but oh well. What we didn't see coming was the need for proof of our relationship, so I had neglected to pack any. Now we have to provide a whole bunch of that also before they make a decision. After paying over $2k it was very much an anti climax, so let's just hope once we provide all these documents that we do infact get our Visa's.

Ok, I need to go throw up again....

Sorry to hear of the delay in issuing your visa. Hopefully, once you provide all the information your visa will be issued. Good luck.

That would have been funny if you had thrown up on a wiggle ... except for the fact that you feel so awful. Hope the morning sickness eases up soon.

I hope you feel better soon and I hope the visa issue is straightened out. I'm sure once you provide those documents, you'll get your visa in no time. I don't think I've ever heard of anyone being denied from Sydney (not saying it doesn't happen, just kind of rare) but I have heard of this happening a fair few times and it generally works out nicely in the end. :]

HAHAHAHA about the wiggles....how cool

I was always so lucky and never got morning sickness.....I hope it passes for you soon.

Damm about the visa sad.gif but I have to say it. Evidence of the relationship is crucial as you both found out the hard way. This is the biggie.....the Green Card. No AOS where you would of had to show that too. I guess Im a little surpised it was overlooked. Not coming down on you or anything so dont get me wrong. So once you supply the evidence they require, they will issue the visa?

What a bummer aye. All the very best to you and your family.

Hopefully the delay will be short-lived! Good luck

So sorry to hear about the morning sickness. I really hope it eases up soon for you. I'm sure it's not helping to have the stress of the process. Do something gentle for you today, k?

Bummer about the visa. Thank you for sharing your experience, though. It reminds me to get my rear in gear to get that sort of evidence together before I leave. May I ask which form or document you didn't have with you for your I-864? I'm putting that together this week and I would appreciate knowing, if you're willing to share, I just can't afford another plane ticket over, nor do I have th vacation time left.

Keep going, mate. This will happen for you.

Sorry to hear about your situation, I am sure you will sort it out in no time...

Can I just ask, is proving your relationship a standard in the interview? I know that it is if you are requesting fiance/ee visa, but I didn't know that it is the same for spouses? Am I right?

And if so, what sort of proof are they looking for?

As with any interview regardless of whether fiance or spouse, one must be able to show that they have a bonafide relationship. Just having a marriage certificate does not cut it, nor does it show that one is not trying to circumvent immigration law. So basically any evidence that you have that can and does show an ongoing relationship and in turn a bonafide relationship. This can come via, phone bills, emails, cards, letters, photographs (including engagement, wedding), letters and cards etc from family and friends, any joint bank accounts, rental, the USC having filed tax as married, etc etc. Not all Conofs will ask for the evidence, some are satisfied with just a little, and some want everything but the kitchen sink. So always best to have all and any evidence on hand just in case.

Wow, the Wiggles. Somehow I can't imagine them in their colourful shirts at the Consulate.

Sorry to hear that, I hope it all gets sorted out quickly. I will definitely make sure I bring photos, cards, etc. for my interview.
Candace
Sorry to hear about the morning sickness and the visa, but fingers crossed everything will be fine once you get the document and evidence for them.

Chill Caroline! We had just forgotten his payslips to prove what he earns. We had the tax returns but not any other proof of his employment. Oooops to us! Don't worry mate, I was just preggo and my brain evaded me and I left the payslips at home! You'll be right!

I guess our application was flagged because we did get married within 6 months of meeting, but still...its not like we married within a day or something! Still busy getting all our phone records together, won't be a problem we have spent literally THOUSANDS in the past year, just on phone calls! Plus we have a tonne of other evidence so all should be dandy once we send it in. Thanks to everyone for your kind wishes, and I will update when we have some more news. Now, its back to head in the toilet!

Oh, I forgot to add... we've been married for almost 9 months now.
CarolineM
haha I always worry about nothing. Just jitters you know. Thanks though.

I know it will all work out for you smile.gif
