Full Version: Security checks before leaving NVC?
I called NVC a minute ago to see if my case had left for Cairo yet and was told it was being, or had been sent to Washington for security checks before being sent on to Cairo. I then asked if this was done for all applicants or just for this case and was given a mini-speech about after 9/11 all cases go through this. I never remember anyone saying this about NVC, I've seen timelines on here as having cases leave NVC in a day or so. Am I missing something?
They usually don't do that with K-1's, call back and see if someone else gives you the same answer.
OK I did call back and spoke with someone and she said that the case typically stays there 2-4 weeks and she gave me the new case number. My case was entered there on 2/09/07.
