I applied for my brother & sisters back in 2001 via I-130. I have browsed all official websites, still can't find the answers to the folowing questions. Greatly appreciate it if someone helps me out.

1. I just received notice that my petitions have been tranferred to California Service Center. What does it mean? Per visa bulletin status, they started processing 1994 petitions. Mines are 6 years down the road.

2. If my brother and sister receive the visa numbers and ready for interview at local consulate. Is it a done deal as far as immigration is concenred? Is there a chance of being denied? on what conditions?

3. My sister's kid was a minor when I applied for her and her family. He is now over 21. Will his age affect his eligibility for immigration? Are they going by age at the time of application or the time of receiving visa number?

Many thanks

1. Do not know, probably not a lot.

2. Criminal record, medical issues, previous overstay, what did you have in mind?

3. I believe the age is fixed when a visa number becomes available.

Have you looked into the time frame to immigrate family members? If my wife wanted to bring a sister over she would have to wait until she has her citizenship (3 years) and then, for the Philippines, it is taking over 20 years to get a sibling immigrated.

It about 10 years less for China

At the moment.

But I take your point, hardly a current issue.
