I graduated from college in December, and now I'm back in Tanzania visiting my fiance for another month or so. When I return to the states, I plan on filing for the K1 visa and finding work. I'm sure that I can find a decent-paying job with my biology degree, but it will be the first real job I've held. Is a good job and bank records (if I save lots of money while the I-129 is processing) sufficient evidence for the affidavit of support, or should I be trying to find a co-sponsor?

Hi, don't know the answer to your question, but as a grad student I'm in a sort of similar situation when it comes to the I-134. I've made a few inquiries. Most people who responded said I would need a co-sponsor. Yikes! My family isn't very supportive on this issue. Hope you have a better chance. We've already submitted our paper work so now its up to God and good documentation (scholarship, student loan living expenses reimbursement- hey whether or not it works I'll sleep good know I did EVERYTHING in my ability. lol). Anyway, I'll be sure to pass along any additional info I get.

Good luck!

We are in very similar situations, reeses! My family is also not supportive... or those that are, don't make enough money. Good luck to you, and keep me posted!

I'd first suggest you research your consulate for any oddities in their interpretation of the I-134.

The I-134 in and of itself does not require the production of tax returns except for the self employed. It does require verification of income - most people substantiate this via paystubs and an employment letter.

Some consulates want to look at past tax returns. Most do not.
