If I had a court order with me today, verifying my name change, assuming all other criteria are met, can I file the I-751 immediately, or do I have to first file form SS-5 with SSA, wait for it to get approved, get a new card and then file the I-751? In other words, is there a connection (for name change purposes), between the SS-5 and the I-751?
Also, what is the filing fee for the SS-5 (couldn't find that at SSA's website), and what is the normal processing time?
Thanks
Kabs--remember me? we used to come to this website since the I-130 days--how have you been since then?
-ive had1 kid and expecting another in 2 months--alo sent in my wifes I-751 in 1st week of December but havent heard nothing yet. Do you still live in Arizona?--I have a good memory right?--If so, I live in AZ now too--
anyway, hope all is good--talk to you later
about your question of the SSA and USCIS connection--i think you will be ok in filing the I-751 now but do get the name change asap as when they do the biometrics they will obviously find the name conflict
