It'll be just like any other day.
We don't like being told we have to buy cards and presents and wait in long line-ups for a very rushed dinner. We like to do nice things for each other when the mood strikes us, not when it's a man-made holiday.

I'm a member of the ladies auxhillary at our firehall and we have a spaghetti dinner on 14th, so we're going to have a candle lit dinner for 250!! How romantic!

I am such a dork because I can't seem to stop posting this response to anyone's post re: Valentine's Day ..... I am getting MARRIED!!!!!!!!! The funny thing is that we didn't pick the day because it is VD, but because it fits in our schedules as the first day we can marry after he arrives.
I booked a JP today who is going to come to our house (ah the benefits of small town living ..... no sushi anywhere to be found, but a JP who will marry us in our living room AND who knew exactly where the house is located before I gave her the exact address) ... okay, that is a bit creepy
The nice thing about it being VD is that a lot of hotels are running specials, so we are going to stay at a fancy grand old hotel and have a 4 course meal and champagne

We actually might be getting married that day too if the judge I picked can adjust her schedule. Otherwise it will be the next Wednesday. It won't be because it's Vday but because Wednesdays are the only day my family and the judge can get together with us.
For our Valentine's Day date, we decided to go to the Monster Truck Rally. Seriously. So deliciously trashy.

That is very cool ... honestly, if there was one here, I think we would choose to be trashy too and attend the Monster Truck Rally

We agreed to not buy gifts this year, I'm taking him out to dinner on Valentine's Day and he's taking me out the following week. Nowhere really unusual, we're not even booking a table, just going to a pizza place we really like that's selling heart-shaped pizzas and donating part of the proceeds to children's medical research. Then he's taking me out for sushi.

I sent him a bunch of chocolates, will probably call him tonight since he finally got back to KTM - I haven't heard from him in 3 days b/c he was at his friend's village for the friend's wedding - I told him to take lots of photos and notes b/c that will be us before the year is up!!

I got a brief but very sweet Valentine's message from him saying he rushed to the cybercafe as soon as he got back into K-town b/c he was worried that I would be missing him, awwww...

To me that's the best gift ever.

He then said he was exhausted from the bus trip(I can imagine, especially if he rode on top of the bus like I've seen him do...)

This Valentine's Day:
the good news - I'm in Korea with my fiance
the bad news - visa was denied.
in Korea Valentine's Day is for men..women get gifts on a different day.
