I'm thinking seriously in buying it now because of seats going quickly and the price goes up about $400 if I book it under 14 days.. Her interview is on the 22nd I'm thinking of booking it for the 28th..

One piece of advice...IMO..Never buy the ticket until he/she has the Visa in hand...I was going to buy before hand, but at Atif's interview he got the 221g-case being sent back to USCIS. Glad I didn't buy that ticket...he did however get the call 14 days later to bring his passport and received the visa the day he gave it to them.

I wouldn't count my "chickens before they hatch"...if you know what I mean. rose.gif

Didn't buy the ticket until after the visa was in his hands.

It's definitely hard. But at the same time, it's better not to risk her not being able to use the plane ticket you would buy ahead of time if her visa was delayed. I hadn't seen Sujeet for 11 months when he finally arrived, so I know it's not easy to wait.

Definitely didn't prebuy tickets--she bought it in India (much cheaper, esp. for one-way journey) and I will reimburse her over time.

Yes I just thinking I'm going crazy alittle here whistling.gif I know better then buy them in advance... but maybe I'll check to see if I can change the dates if needed without a major hit in the pocket book.. If I remember right it cost something like $200 to change dates plus any fare difference... I'll check into it today...and post the results...

Didn't buy until after the visa arrived.

I thought real hard about it....but I didn't, I am glad that I didn't because first of all his VISA took longer than it was promised to be delivered to him.
Secondly I got a waaaay cheaper flight for the week after his Visa was in hand.

We got ticket once we found out interview date, he was approved, I flew down to JA and stayed two weeks with him over the holidays, we came home together.

Even if the interview goes well, you're cutting it way too fine to get her passport returned to her from the embassy - dunno procedure in Romania, but it took us 2 weeks, which way longer than the norm. we had prebooked the flight but had flexible tickets and even then it was a panic.

Romania Delivers that day or if it's too late in the day the next morning...

I couldn't get a definite answer to my question from the airlines.. all i know there are some fee's to change dates..

You know all we are talking about in timing is one week... I was going to book it for the 28th but now to get past 14 days from the 22nd I need to book it for March 7th thats only a week... and that is playing it safe...
So why chance it for a week...??? Just because I'm going crazy... whistling.gif LOL I guess I'll wait..and booking it now doesn't get her here any faster really.. I still need to go through these next few weeks no matter what..

1st question - Yes we bought before the interview.
2nd question - Yes and No. We had our interview scheduled for oct 10, then we bought the tickets and then they called me and rescheduled the interview to oct2nd. So we had to change all the dates on the tickets (mine and Charles's). But besides that we got the visa and we already had bought the tickets.

I dont have a ticket for my bingo ..but, I have a plane. 737 is that ok?

Despite sane and popular opinion, I had my ticket booked before I completed my interview........for me to fly to the US four days later.

Did it work out? Yes.
Would I recommend for others to do it? Nope, especially now that Montreal has new procedures where the visa is no longer issued same-day.

Joel bought his own ticket. As for the second question, wasn't sure how to answer it so I just said "yes" because technically it DID go as planned....he came home to me. smile.gif

Joel booked his before the interview too. Kinda scared us at first because the visa was delivered the day BEFORE he was scheduled to fly out. Those few days beforehand effectively took care of the one last nerve I had left. wink.gif
