Hey good luck and much patience to all not going through VSC! Also for anyone trying to contact the NVC still... I highly recommend calling right when they open at 7:30AM EST because I did that this morning and got right through to someone with no waiting (just pressed 1 and then 5). I was told my case had been sent to La Habana on the 13th. Good luck to you all!!!

Okay, so I called NVC and got the number. Is it really just the embassy and year and a few other numbers?

They said they received it a couple of days ago and would send it out in 1-2 weeks. Actually, the first guy said 1-2 weeks, the second guy said 2-4.

No online tracking with NVC like with USCIS. So we can only call them back every couple of days to check?
They always say it takes weeks but you keep on them every other day and you'll see that it only takes a few days to get your case number.

Hi Everyone,
Just wanted to Congratulate everyone who already has NOA1's 2s and beyond...We had to file at CSC

((( The average time so far is 94 days...But we had the most recent touch on March 12. I hope that's a good sign, no RFEs yet, and praying there won't be any. That's my biggest worry, I didn't have anyone here who could read through our application for me

. It's really annoying that there is such a huge difference in timelines for people who filed at CSC vs. VSC, I wish they would do something about that...Anyway, sorry for complaining. Best wishes to all the February filers! Milena

Haha, that rocks!! I always waited long enough to get the message where they kick you completely off the system when I called during the days and at night.
I can't believe I waited 30 minutes on hold at my credit union though.. I didn't even get through! I just got tired of waiting so I hung up. At least with NVC they kick you off when it's a long wait. Then you don't think, oh i'll be talking to an operator soon, so I'll just wait. And 30 minutes later you're still waiting!

I feel the same way. I am visiting Moscow in May. It doesn't make sense, if they have so few applications in VSC, to process so quickly, they should send more to them, not just depending on where we live, or at least hire more people at CSC. Seems unfair sometimes

. Sorry I just needed to vent a little...Have a nice evening everyone. Milena.

Just got a letter from NVC saying that our petition has been forwarded to the Juarez Consulate!! And my dog promptly sat on it!
Following other people's timelines, it seems that most recently it has only been taking about a month to receive Packet 4 and then we can be on our way to the consulate for his interview! It also seems that a while ago, people were waiting for up to a month for Juarez to say they'd received it and then a bit longer for them to mail out the packet!
Not too worried, as I can't even think about going for his interview until mid-June.

Hi, I posted this topic in my regional section, but I haven't gotten more than one piece of feedback. Any advice would be very much appreciated! Thanks in advance. Milena.:
"Since I have so much time while waiting for our NOA2 (darn CSC) I am trying to organize all the documents for the interview. I have a list from the Moscow Embassy website. The biggest problem is this affadavit of support. On the site they say "Financial documents from the petitioner – a US citizen: please note, that Affidavit of Support (form I-134) is not required, but may be requested." I have a rather strange situation: I have lived abroad for almost 2 years now, working unofficially. I can't really file this I-134. I called the embassy and the woman who I spoke with, says I should just write a letter of explanation, just stating our situation, that we will be staying with relatives until we have work, etc. They will also be helping us, but it won't just be ONE specific person. So we don't have anyone to be a "co-sponsor" By the time we get to the interview we will have a large amount of money saved as well. We don't want him to be a public charge (obviously) and he will be working right away. I am just so nervous if her get to the interview and they deny the visa? Has anyone ever had any experience with a similar situation? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Milena."

I was just thinking...it saddens me greatly that obviously VSC is much faster than all the rest. I don't really understand why, to be honest..but I guess it's one more of those reality checks we as adults get all to often, that life just isn't fair. I do feel lucky and blessed..don't get me wrong, I just wish it was somewhat more uniformed. It's so hard to gadge where you are at in the process with such huge timing gaps. I don't really get the process, I'm just taking this all one doc. at a time. I can only hope I fill things out correctly and so on. Anyway...all this post is really is to just say, yeah it sucks. I am saddened by the delays that any of you feel. I've waited to be with Craig for such a very long time already, I had to "wait" through the whole process of my divorce which started with a one year mandatory seperation before I could file even a bit of paperwork.........oh well you don't need to hear those problems. I'm just sorry

I am feeling bad for the filers that have to go through CSC. I keep reading that it's hard for you all to see VSC filers flying through this system while continue to wait. But I don't want to not be able to get excited about our progress. It seems to me that the best thing to do is to create a thread that is specifically for VSC so that we can keep up with each others' progress without flaunting it for those that don't really want to see. So that's what I'll do.

We got our NOA1 at the start of February and have been trying to stay relaxed about everything, easier said than done! My advice for fellow CSCers is to convince yourselves that you arent going to get your NOA2 until about 5 months after the NOA1!! Then anything quicker will be a happy surprise!

This is how I deal with stress, by deluding myself.

To answer Tony's Q, Adrian had his medical in London on Mar. 26. Went fine - other than being really expensive (about 500 USD) - he just had to have a tetnus shot and a rubella shot. He called to schedule the medical as soon as he got packet 3.
Now we are just worrying about how long it will take London to get him the passport with the Visa in it.... some say days, some say weeks. We're debating on when to get plane tickets but it's a nice problem to have since the end of the tunnel is finally in sight!
