We got our NOA1 today WOOT!

Yay! I still haven't gotten mine, but I called USCIS today and they said it was sent Monday and gave me my receipt number (which had been indecipherable on the image of my check). They were much more speedy and nice and helpful on the phone than I thought they would be. They said my NOA1 was sent Monday, so I should get it any day.

I do not know why you and JandC had to wait so bloody long for your NOA-1. All three of us sent in our petitions on the 20th, yet my NOA-1 came snail mail on March 3rd, and our petitions all went to CSC. Further proof that CSC has a few screws loose, I rekon.

Thanks Nagishkaw! I didn't think it was ever going to get here. Better late than never though!! I noticed that the three of us sent our petitions out on the same day...yet nealandcari still haven't got theirs! You are right...CSC def has a few screws loose! Glad to see it is on its way to them now though.

I will keep you posted on any progress...it's always good to have someone to compare with.

My case doesn't sound like it's going well...

I sent everything off in Mid-January, to the Nebraska center. Got the whole thing sent back 2/4 because I sent a photocopy of the I-129 F and they needed my original signature. So I sent back all the originals with original signatures, to be safe, on 2/5, to the California Service center as per the instructions on the I-797C.

(I'm also worried because I made some errors filling in the blanks on her G-325A - originally I taped paper over them, copied in the right instructions, and the photocopy looked pristine - but when I resubmitted the originals, I took the paper back off, put lines through the mistakes and just re-wrote them and initialed the mistake...I'm scared to death that this fouled everything up.)

I still haven't gotten anything in the mail since 2/5, the USCIS recorded message says it was received 2/9 and that an I-797 was sent. Is that the same as the NOA1? Either way, I haven't received anything. The website also says it was touched on 2/14. Am I doomed? The wedding is planned for October in India and we hoped she could return to the US with me at that time...

It's so weird for me how everyone see's "touches" and so on. Mine still has the exact same message that my approval was sent on March 1st. But I see nothing else.

I just read on the NVC site to give it 3 weeks before calling them to see if they have your I-129F or not. So I guess I get to still just wait. I don't know if it's in the mail or anything

mchakko: You should call the USCIS...you will be able to talk to a live person since they said they've sent something that you haven't received. They'll be able to clear it up for you before you have a major freakout.

The biggest problem I saw in your post was the wedding in India. Under the K1, you CANNOT get married outside the US. The most important piece of the fiance visa is that the beneficiary be your fiancee, NOT wife at the point of entry and that you marry in the US within 90 days. If you marry in India, you will be committing fraud, and could jeopardize everything. I know that many people have non-binding ceremonies in the beneficiary's country, but you'd best explain it as an engagement part and/or going away party. If you are legally married, then you need to file a K3, not K1.

Many people save the big wedding for when the beneficiary can travel outside the US.

Craigandkym....once it leaves Vermont, it's out of their system. You won't see any more updated info on that page. From what I understand, the NVC doesn't even enter it into a computer system before sending it on to the embassy.

Geeze, new forms? man o man I assume I used an old form. I think we got it off the uscis web site though, I will have to check the date on it.
Good Luck to everyone! We filed Feb 23, sent the form I-29f to texas. I have the Post office showing they received it, but no NOA yet. We also used a money order to speed processing ...I hear now, I could have seen my number when the check was cashed. Dang, now to go check the date on the new forms.

I FINALLY received my NOA1 hard copy in the mail today! The notice date was March 5. Now I get to wait for the NOA2 haha.

I'm getting very frustrated. Elise and I seem to be left behind. We received our NOA on the 16th (it was dated the 13th). Our last touch was February 21st and still no NOA2. And this is via VT! At least I was lucky enough to visit her (I just got back).

If I don't hear anything soon I may reach out to my congressman (though I don't want to "cry wolf" too quickly).

Give it some time . Calling a congressperson should be a last resort. In your case, even if it is VSC , it has only been a month. Every case is different. Try to hang in there , I am sure you will hear something soon.

You're part of the February group, I thought I was the last one around that time frame. It's coming soon, I'm sending positive vibes.

I'd be happy if the petition has been looked at. I'd understand if there was an RFE. But it's the lack of any action that is getting to me. From what I can there are over 5 petitions sent after (some well after) Elise and mine that have been processed in a more timely fashion.

And - I'd be a lot more patient if Elise and I weren't expecting (unexpectedly, but happily) a child. We'd like to be together during this time and we'd like consistency in her pre-natal care.

You sound exactly like me, Brian...I was about to have a breakdown because many, many people who filed after me were approved before me. Just when I was about to try to get a prescription of Xanax, I got my approval email.
I also didn't want to cry wolf and pull the congressperson card, especially because it might be needed down the line.

I filed a few days before you, and my last touch was the 21st as well, and then I was touched again and it was the approval.

Sit tight for a while longer, do something you love to take your mind of of it, and it'll come.

I hear you, I was frantic for that same reason. I had no touches, nothing. The site didn't change until I got the approval.

The dates on the VJ timelines for "your petition may be adjudicated as early as" DO change based on others' approvals. Check yours again, Brian, it's at March 11 now. As I said earlier, I also had a freakout just about the same time you did, and my petition was approved 2 days after the possible date on the timeline.

It's been a month and I haven't got the NOA1 in the mail yet. I'm not even *CONSIDERING* our NOA2 yet. I just want CSC to mail the NOA1 already! The website says they mailed it --- but nothing yet...

My heart is truly breaking for you guys that are still waiting. This waiting for the next step is truly maddening! I'm sending all the good vibes I can!! May your road get straighter and your load less heavy (and may it happen FAST!!!)

Just a side note to the other Feb. Filers..can we keep in touch as to our progress as we travel together? Any packet 3's already in the midst of us??

Just be glad that you are going thru VSC...there are people going thru CSC who got their NOA1 in December who are still waiting for their NOA2
As I am Frequently reminded by my fiance...all things will happen in their own right time and not any sooner..

I got an email back from NVC today that told me my petition was forwarded to the Barbados Embassy on March 6!
We are well on our way.
I hope things continue to go so smoothly, and that things go smoothly for everyone else also!
