Whew, check cashed today. I signed up for email updates at uscis, is there anything else i need to do? I hope the NOA1 comes today. Maybe i'll be able to breathe a little easier now. Thanks for everyone's reassurance smile.gif

I have a question about touches...
Will these show up on a status search on the USCIS website?
I keep checking it (only once a day!) and its always the same thing on there crying.gif

" Current Status: Case received and pending.

On February 7, 2007, we received this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E), and mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. Please follow any instructions on this notice. We will notify you by mail when we make a decision or if we need something from you. If you move while this case is pending, call customer service. We process cases in the order we receive them. You can use our processing dates to estimate when yours will be done. This case is at our CALIFORNIA SERVICE CENTER location. Follow the link below to check processing dates. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. Just follow the link below to register."

When the application does get a touch, is this where I will see it at?

Create an account here, and then see when the last update was! smile.gif

Thanks, I have an account on there, but get the same info when I login there...same message, or perhaps I am doing something wrong?
When I am logged in it says last updated on 02-15-07... unsure.gif

How exactly does one go about signing up for e-mail updates. I went to the web site and they ask for an application receipt number. Does one only get that after the NOA1 or where is that found? Thanks!

Current Status: Approval notice sent.

Awesome... Did you get an email at the same time?

Yeah, I did get an email but I didn't check before going to the site. lol
I saw the notification in my email afterwards.

I signed into the status page just to see if I had any touches. I wasn't expecting to get any approval anytime soon, just wanted to see if someone had worked on my case.

And to my surprise, we got touched! And I was chatting with my boyfriend at the time getting excited for being touched. I didn't even think to click on the case itself to see the status. And later on when I did, I found out we got an approval biggrin.gif

Man I'm so excited!! I can't believe I have to go to class later tonight though hah.

You should definitely get yours soon too. We sent it off/got our NOA1 like the same exact time!

Yeah, we filed ours when my bf was still here visiting. He only left like a week ago sad.gif
But thank goodness as soon as he gets his visa he'll be coming, so like hopefully less than 6 months!

Are you from the UK? or your gf tonyeck

Yeah I am the UK Citizen, however she lives here with me as she is on a student visa! I am very lucky smile.gif

So freaky!

Maybe you will finish the process by August and fly back with her?
I'm planning on going back to Australia in July for a month and if the process and so forth is done by then, my bf planned to fly back with me. That would rock cause the trip there is like 30 hours long and whats better than being stuck with your best friend for 30 hours? biggrin.gif (even if it is a bit uncomfortable hehe). Flying back alone is absolutely terrible! lol. I've had to do it twice.

Have you been to the US yet?

tonyeck
Yeah we met there when I was 2 months in to an 18 month J1 visa stay in 2006/06. We lived in Arlington Virginia, as I notice you live in Virginia smile.gif

I hope to fly back with her then. That would be perfect! I'd hate to leave her at the airport sad.gif

Me either, I think you and I are on the same desk. dry.gif
GabachaYucateca
So I'm a bit of a dip, and had had on my timeline the date I physically received the NOA1 rather than the notice date on the piece of paper.

It was 2/9...and I got all pumped when I saw two touches last week...alas nothing further.

These are the things I ponder (or rather, obsess over):

1)are those two touches and then silence a good sign or a bad one?
2)is the fact that those who filed after me have gotten NOA2s an ominous thing for me, or do things simply move at different speeds?
3)if I'm a good girl and extremely patient, will my NOA2 eventually arrive or will I be crushed by the receipt of a denial or an RFE?

Tony and fiancee, are you thinking the same as I?
tonyeck
Being in the same situation as the touches, I am not sure what to think. From what I read, a touch simply means it has been scanned when moved, either from one desk to another, so maybe they were sorting them out one day from one desk and scanned the next when recieved to the next desk.... maybe? I don't thinka tocuh is an indication to good or badness really...

All NOA2's come at weird speeds it seems. Although there does seem to be a pattern (a few NOA2's for 12th's yesterday and one today for a 13th) but there are still some who have an NOA1 from the 6th and 7th and even before who haven't gotten an NOA2 smile.gif

They way I think of it, the longer you wait, the more it looks less like an RFE. If something really stood out then they would tell you by now... surely?

Thats my thoughts! I had hoped for a before march NOA2 but I will wait until they are ready for it smile.gif

I had to wait until my checks were returned to me to be able to read my case #.
So just tonight I saw that my case was entered on 2-15 and touched 2-23-07. I guess it was touched ... it says; "Last Updated 2-23-07" so I assume that's a touch.

I could previously ONLY see a 2-20-07 date on the faxed copy of the back of my check. There's a stamp over my WAC# and had to guess even on the actual instrument.

GabachaYucateca
I think you misunderstood my question, ding...or it's entirely possible that I phrased it badly.

I was refering to the fact that I am in a tizzy because my receipt date is 2/9 yet people who filed more than a week after me are already getting NOA2s. Then Tonyeck mentioned that there are still early Feb filers who've only received their NOA1 and nothing more, and I asked how to find them so I felt better.

Now this second attempt at asking this questions sounds clear as mud! Think I need to sleep and stop stressing.

Good luck and speedy approvals to all of you February filers!

I was often posting about not getting a touch, not knowing if my case was actually received, what was my case #... and was an early Feb. filer. I was replying to your post in reference to Tonyeck's statement. You just found one, or I thought I'd had no touches until I could read my case #.

Got mud? I do! blink.gif

tony,
It gets freakier aside from sending/getting notice the same days and your fiancee leaving england in august (when I left my bf in australia)
you guys will be in arlington? Pretty cool. tongue.gif
I'm currently in Richmond, VA.

I really thought I was going to get an RFE on my application, cause from other people's packages, it seemed to be so much more detailed and some people put tons more evidence in than I did.

I just did like boarding passes, pictures, passport stamps, and our itineraries from his trip here and our trip over the christmas break to the bahamas.

I seriously don't know how some people have lasted like 4 months without notice, I seriously went crazy in just two weeks.

I wonder what's making Vermont Service Center so fast with turnovers at like less than a month, and then the other ones have like 4 month turnarounds.

Good luck February people smile.gif

Was I one of the few so far that's gotten a NOA as a feb filer?

How exactly does one go about signing up for e-mail updates. I went to the web site and they ask for an application receipt number. Does one only get that after the NOA1 or where is that found? Thanks!

If you've received the cancelled check or you can view it online, there should be a number on the back of it. It should start with three letters, I don't know what they are for Nebraska. That's the receipt number that you need. If you have received your NOA1 in the mail, the number will also be on that.

Thanks for your help! I never receive cancelled checks back, so I guess I will have to wait it out for the NOA1. Thanks again.

Finally got a letter from USCIS for the NOA1. The correct date for the NOA1 is the notice date they give you correct and not the receipt date? So I guess mine NOA1 is February 23rd, 2007. At least there is some progress... though I know that much more waiting is ahead. Good luck to all out there!!!

Quick question... does the USCIS ever mess up with their on-line posting regarding cases? The reason I am asking is I just got a notice that my petition was recieved on the 23 of February. So I go and check to see what it says on-line by entering my receipt number and it says this about my case...

Application Type: I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)

I know this is great news... but part of me is saying they messed up and when meaning to put that this case has it's NOA1 they put this just to get my hopes up lol. Just wanted to see what anyone else had experienced. Also as a Nebraska filer seemed real quick... though I will happily accpet it if it is real. Guess I just have to wait to receive the notice in the mail if it is in fact true. And believe you me that when I do receive it I will be exstatic.

Hi, I sent our packet from Poland on the 21st. Has anyone had experience with using a postal money order? There is a phone number to track it, but I don't know how I can see the number they put on the back...

I am feeling a little frustrated today, as I wanted to track the package, but I can't read the number the postal worker wrote on my receipt. I am gonna have to go there and ask...I am really worried about having sent it from Poland, but since it is my actual address (I am the USC), I didn't know what to do...

I am not actually sure when the package will get there, it was sent by airmail, but I did send a form for confirmation, but it's hard to say if I will get it back...

Sorry, I just needed a place to talk about my worries... smile.gif Good luck to everyone who is filed in February.

I sent our packet out on the 20th , also using a USPS money order. You can use the receipt they gave you for delivery conformation, but you say it has been damaged . As far as the phone number on the back , I know here in the US the first step is to go back to the post office and ask them for a form for the purpose of tracking the money order, but it will cost you. How much, I don't know. I surmise that that phone # on the back is used only after one obtains the form and pays the fee. If it makes you feel better, I'm still waiting for the NOA-1. It would'nt hurt to go back to the post office and inquire if you need that peace of mind.

Milenka,
I sent our package from out of the country also. I paid the extra money to have it sent 4-5 day express (the quickest available here). However, it took two full weeks to get there. But it did get there. I know it's a little more nerve wracking when it is a money order inside That is how we sent our payment also. But think positive and I'm sure it will get there soon. I know it was torture waiting for ours to be delivered. I still have not received an NOA1, but at least I know it got there!
Good Luck,

I just figured out where my case number is on the back of my check! Score! Now I don't have to wait for the NOA1 notice to arrive via NY's ridiculously slow postal service (it's not their fault, they're so overworked . . . )

Also, I got my first "touch," which I'm guessing was probably the note that my check cleared and they can start working on my case. Woohoo! Now we're really in business smile.gif
