The 13-character application receipt number can be found on application notices you have received from the USCIS. It begins with three letters such as (EAC, WAC, LIN, or SRC). Dashes ("-") should be omitted when entering a receipt number. However, all other characters, including asterisks ("*"), can be included if listed on your notice as part of the receipt number

This should be visable on the check too smile.gif

I just sent mine out an hour ago! It was really a lot of work to make duplicates of EVERYTHING in the packet -- it was so much stuff, I think I spent about $20 on copying alone. As I was reviewing the packet to make sure it all looked good, I saw this: "The estimated time to file this petition is 1 hour, 30 minutes per petition." Surely they don't mean on OUR end of things? I just burst out laughing . . . I've probably spent about 20 hours total on this thing. But it's done, it's mailed, and now the waiting begins good.gif

It's going to Vermont, which I hear is speedier than the other ones. Does anyone know why?

Like I do after handing in a paper (I'm a grad student) . . . that I don't quite want to let go of it, because maybe if I spend just one more day on it, it'll be more successful.

I think because they handle fewer k-1s than cali. Congrats on that too! If mine would have went to vmt, my fiancee might be here by now tongue_ss.gif

hi berichka79! try this:
  • trace your mail from the USPS
  • if have been received, anytime around 10-15days you will receive NOA1, you can find your case receipt number there
  • register online in the USCIS site using your receipt number-site..https://egov.immigration.gov/cris/jsps/index.jsp
  • check online on the status, you will know if your case has been transferred from one service center to another

i hope this helps..feel free to ask me,..

At about 2 hours after I posted here and we were wondering whether the number that we could read on the back of the cheque was the correct one, my fiance had a strange feeling and went home to check his mail... and there it was! The "infamous" NOA1 kicking.gif
He called me immediately and he showed it to me on the webcam...
And btw, it does seem that Texas K1 petitions are being sent to CA...
So be patient (HA! smile.gif ) all of you who do not have any word yet... after all, it you do have confirmation that it got there by mail... you must get your NOA1 any day now...

I'm sending out our packet registered mail on Monday after work. Have some serious business at Kinko's today to get boarding passes and color photos copied!

Luckily kitkat gave us a heads up that the new I129F form is now ready.

Anyone else???

Good luck! I just filed last Friday and used the old I-129F as it's good until Feb. 18, 2007.

Still, I have checked the USPS site 4 times already blush.gif Get there! Get there! ohmy.gif

Ding! My check was just cashed.
I-129F was received on 2/13/07, so 10-day processing time.

What format is the case number in? I can see the back of my check online, but it looks like a bad fax and has numbers all over it.

Total Newbie to the Board...and February Filer as well!!

I have my NOA1...I have my case #, I've signed up for email notifications/alerts.
I know they got my packet and my "date" is February 13, 2007.
I mailed a Cashier's Check so I don't know when the check will actually clear, but I wanted to send guaranteed funds.

This wait is going to take freaking forever I fear sad.gif

Q? What does "touches" mean?

Thanks muchly,

Hi -- haven't received a touch yet (sadly) but I'm the only one around the boards at this time and I've been around to learn what a "touch" means -- any time somebody at immigration does something with your case (i.e. reads it, files it, takes some action on it) they have to scan your barcode, and that shows up in the computer system. Apparently it can be a source of great frustration because people will see multiple touches on their case in any one day and then hear . . . nothing. wacko.gif Look for a great post by former USCIS officer huskerkiev about why this happens.

curious, those of you who sent it in before feb 18th... did you guys use the new form, or the old form?
Dan + Gemvita
Got check cashed notification today, but like what others have experienced the numbers are not readable, they are clumped together. The process of waiting for NOA1 is agonizing already and Once we have a check cashed notification in the email, we can't read the numbers on the poor quality image. But there's this one thing is readable enough, it says "California" girlwerewolf2xn.gif
However I still am glad that finally there is a progress for us. I'm hoping other February-filers here will have some good news very soon.
