Received my NOA1 today, 9 days after nervously standing at the post office as the counter dude explained me the difference between certified and registered mail!
Pardon my ignorance, but I know how to edit my timeline, but I don't know how to make it appear under all my posts. Help!

Click on my controls in the top right hand corner
In the left column, click "edit my signature"
Then manually add the details in yourself

Congrats on your NOA1

Delivered today but no one was there to sign for it....big surprise, haha. This happens alot at the Texas center, right? I'm thinking it will be okay tomorrow.
I hear this happens alot at Texas. They will get it tomorrow

Congrats!

I sent mine a while back... and it was forwarded to California... apparently Texas does not handle the I-129F... Mine was received in California about 3 days after Texas signed for it... I still do not have my "snail mail" notice of the NOA1, but I was able to get my "WAC#" from the back of the check (online banking picture) ... so... Best of luck to you.... Looks like we are both waiting in NC

That's amazing. Why on earth don't they just get you to send it to Cali? Silly USCIS. Thanks for the heads up though, and keep me informed if you don't mind.

Congratulations

Anyone had any checks cashed, NOA1's, NOA2's or any touches yet?

I have had none - maybe next week? Expected to have my NOA1/check cashed by now!
AGUA FRIA
Feb 16 2007, 08:38 PM
I registered with USCIS site and the last update was 02/10/07. Since VSC is known for being swift, I'm hoping to hear something soon. I keep forgetting to check to see if my check has been cashed. Since I had a certified draft drawn from my account, I have to call the bank.

Feb 16 2007, 08:48 PM
I imagine they cash the check before sending out the NOA1 right?
GabachaYucateca
Feb 16 2007, 08:59 PM
The NOA1 shows that they received the payment, so once you get that it seems you can assume that it's been cashed.
I can't believe how fast one person's NOA1 was received....sent the 5th and NOA1 on the 7th...that one boggles the mind!

I just called my bank; my check was cashed on 02/09/07. GabachaYucatea, I sent my application USPS Express Mail. The NOA1 was generated the day after they received the packet.

Hello Everyone!
Just thought I'd add my name to the February filers. I mailed my I-129F packet out to the Texas Service Center at 4:55pm (barely made it before they shut the doors) via USPS Priority Mail! So the waiting game begins....
Here's to a quick turn-around!!!

Its on the back of the check. Call your bank and see if they will send you a copy, or if you check online, depending on the service, you can see a scan of the cashed check

Just sent the petition out today to the Nebraska Center... and then it gets sent to California. It is too bad about the long weekend, but I am with you wildroze22 that it still feels good to have it sent. Also, here is a quick question of clarification. What does it mean when on your timeline it says your possible I-129F adjucation date? Is it saying a possible date just for the petition approval or the visa approval? I know that is not necessarilly accurate, but wanted to ask, thanks.

There are 2 notices you will get through the post, the first being an NOA1, which is a recepit saying "yeah we got it" and that has a case number (which you can use to track online). Once you can track online you can sign up to email updates which will tell you whenever the application is "touched" and finally when an NOA2 is given which is the "yeah your accepted"
You can also get the case number from the back of the check if you have access to that

I sent mine out on the 12th from Grenada and it still hasn't arrived yet. I even sent it express. But then again, 3 weeks could be express when your talking about Grenada! I forgot that today was a holiday, so at least I feel a little better knowing why it didn't get there today.
I'm playing my Jedi mind tricks to get it there faster...I think I need more practice.
But at least it's going to Vermont, maybe they be speedy quick for me too.
Congrats to you all that have gotten your NOA1's.

Hello all Feb filers,
Congratulations to each and every one of you! Please let's keep each other informed to status. I would love to hear from all of you and share everything with you.
We are among the crowd here. I mailed packet Feb 7, received Feb 8, and now waiting for word....
Sitting on pins and needles......... I hope word soon. The suspense is killing me. Filed on the old form. Does the date they receive the packet count twards the old vs. new form? Or when they process it?

Snail mail is the regular mail. You will get the noa1 in the regular mail. Then you can go to uscis.gov and create an account and turn the email notifications on.

I am sure there are still some who have yet to recieve an NOA1. I expect you will be transfered to CSC as TSC does not process K1's anymore if I remember correctly. Check to see if they have cashed your check, then you can possibly get the case number from a copy of the back of the check. You can then use the case number to check online to see when your NOA1 was processed and the sign up for email alerts. You can only get this with the case number from the back of the check or the NOA1 that comes in the mail.

Snail mail is a derogatory retronym — named after the snail with its proverbially slow speed — used to refer to letters and missives carried by conventional postal delivery services. The phrase refers to the lag-time between dispatch of a letter and its receipt, versus the virtually instantaneous dispatch and delivery of its electronic equivalent, e-mail.

In my case, they mailed the NOA1 before cashing the check. Try not to worry - it will happen
