I'm sending out our packet registered mail on Monday after work. Have some serious business at Kinko's today to get boarding passes and color photos copied!

Luckily kitkat gave us a heads up that the new I129F form is now ready.

Anyone else???
Sheherazade
I'll be sending mine out this week if my passport would just get here already!!!!!!!!
I filled out the old form so I hope I can get it there by the 18th smile.gif
GabachaYucateca
Since you've still got the paperwork in hand, why don't you just fill out the new one? There's a box at the top of the new form saying that if the old is received, it'll be returned to you with the check uncashed.

Luckily the I-129F doesn't require the beneficiary's signature so I've managed to screw it up several times and have to print another with nothing lost but my patience!
Sheherazade
why didn't you save it to your computer and use adobe to type it out?

because my fiance wrote his address in arabic on the second page and there's no way i could write it out myself if i printed out the new one.

the old form is acceptable until feb 18th.
GabachaYucateca

Gotcha! Makes sense.

Hopefully the prior form will be accepted! My line of thinking (erring on the side of caution and anal-retentiveness) is that they had planned on accepting the prior version until 2/18, not knowing when they'd have the newest version available. It's not clear whether this is true (or maybe they'll just let it slip by) because the newest version of the form says:

Prior versions of this form will be rejected, and the fee returned, with instructions to resubmit the entire filing using the current version of this form.

As to why I just didn't save it on Adobe...who knows! smile.gif It was only the first page I kept screwing up so it was easy enough to print out that first page again.

Good luck!
AngelD
Yeay! February Filers!
I'm sending ours out Feb. 12th!! Let's hope we see quick results like some of the Nov. Dec. and Jan. Filers!

Best of luck to everyone

I'm shooting to have mine out on February 14th - Valentine's Day AND Shivaratri, a big holiday at the temple where K and I met... heart.gif

FEBRUARY FILER!!!

I think I might beat everyone, I have a USPS receipt saying I mailed it Feb. 1st at 8:32am CST.

Good luck, have a sense of humor, and lets all hope us Feb filers get early approvals and NO REFS!
gnb
We are submitting our petition this Wednesday. It is good that we keep each other informed of our progress.

I would like to ask about the Marriage intent, can I sign my and pdf to my fiance to the US or does it need to signed with the original letter?
Kendall_Suphee
I express mailed my packet on 2/2 so they should have it by noon on Monday...

Let us hope for quick replies.... I was soooo happy when I finally mailed my packet...

My big surprise was on the morning I was going to mail the packet. I had not noticed that it said on page 2 of the I-129 to write the address of your significant other in the native alphabet for their country if they do not use Roman letters....

Guess what... I can not write in THAI! wacko.gif

So... after panicking a few minutes and kicking myself for not having Suphee write her address for me a few days earlier when I was still in Thailand, I remembered the local Thai restaurant... they of course congratulated me and said 'Of course one of us would be glad to write the address in Thai for you..."

GNB: I'm almost positive that the statement of intent to marry needs to have your original signature on it.

Kendall: what a sweet, inventive solutions! Good one!

ya thats why i need to send in the old form...my fiance already wrote his address in arabic. i guess if all else fails, and my passport doesn't get here in time for the 18th, (please god no) then i can go to a local moroccan restaurant and ask them to write it. i would just rather have it signed by my fiance and KNOW its correct.

Thanks -

At the time I was really freaking out and kicking myself for missing it... I thought I had read the form 3 or 4 times and had everything... but apparently, I was focusing on the first page of the I-129 and of course the wonderful 325A ....

Best of luck to you!!! good.gif

Hahahaha. Thats some quick thinking. I think we should recommend that for people who ask about things needing translation. Just take it to your local ____________ ethnic restaurant and have your docs translated while you eat!

Question for y'all:

How did you organize your papers? I punched two holes in the top and planned on attaching them with one of those metal fasteners, but it turns out the holes are too far apart. Any alternate suggestions?

And I was going to affix sticky tabs to the bottom with the different types of info so they could be flipped to easily...but then I was thinking that they might not like having a sticky tab on things like the I129F form. Any ideas?

Or does this sound okay?

After wrestling with the fasteners and realizing that the holes were too far apart, I started writing the check. Hadn't noticed that I had given myself a papercut and proceeded to bleed all over the check. Unbelievable.

I am sending mine within this week via USPS. hopefully it will get there before the 18 /

Staples has a squeeze clamp report notebook. It has a spring loaded metal camlock that latches and holds about 5/8" of paper.
Hope that helps!

Aloha all,

Just sealed our I-129 packet and post office bound tomorrow morning. I work for the County government here and had the luxury of having the immigration department two floors down. My friend who reviewed it said it was the best he had seen - so I hope that is a good omen.

Can anyone give me a rough idea on what to expect time-wise to bring my ku`uipo from the Philippines?? I see lotsa conflicting and confusing numbers out there.

Good luck to all us Febbers,

Bill and Joan

Nice to see other Hawai'i folks on the board - I'm a misplaced kama'aina in currently bitterly cold(10 degrees F when I walked out the door this morning) NYC, damn it's on days like this when I miss the islands... sad.gif

i'm so disappointed right now... i've been waiting, and waiting for my renewed passport to arrive so i can send in the i-129f. i even paid for it to be expedited (which was supposed to be within two weeks!!)
so i called the passport office today to check on the status. its not even registered in their computer yet, which means it hasn't even been looked at and could take two MORE weeks! diablo.gif

it looks like now i'm not going to make the 18th deadline for the old forms. dammit. time to find someone to write my fiance's address in arabic on the new form. thats the least of my worries though... i just wanted to get my application out already!!!!!! wahhhhhhhh :9

Well that just sucks! Did you call your local federal building/office about it. Try another site maybe (national or local).

Also -is there a Mediteranian restaurant near you? Or a University? Maybe a mosque...
Someone could write that for you quick I bet, especially if you have the old form filled out for them to copy already.

Good luck!

GabachaYucateca
So sorry to hear that...

Although this will set you back a bit, I'm sure that you could find someone willing to write out his info in Arabic for you.

I've sent out my papers and will do my best to not read answers to these threads...if someone brings up something I did wrong or differently, I'll just get all anguished and won't be able to do anything.

It's out of my hands noq!

The Yak Caravan arrived with my fiance's paper's but I guess when he signs his name he only signs his first name so I don't know if that would be OK with CIS or not??? He sent me a copy of the first two pages of his passport and that is how he signed it there so if it is consistent on all documents which he signs will they accept it?

Also, he sent me a passport photo but it is the small size which is standard in India(and apparently Nepal) - I'm going to have to send him one of my photos and see if he can get one of his in the same size. Except for the size it looks OK.
*sigh* more delays, wanna get this show on the ROAD.... sad.gif

Hello everybody!
We sent our application yesterday, February 6th, to Texas center. And now we have a question... on USPS's site it says that they attempted delivery, today at 11:44 AM (so during office hours I would say), and a notice was left. They will try a second delivery... But now I wonder, how can they get a delivery receipt from a PO box?!
We are both confused and until we get an answer from a USPS office (cause it seems that is as hard as getting an answer from USCIS wacko.gif ), I was wondering if anyone had this stupid problem.

I don't know how they can't deliver to a PO box, but anyway this past monday I checked and it said it had been delivered. Even my mom who has worked for the USPS for 25 yrs didn't know why. But be patient. It will be delivered. If its been a week or something then call though.

I am sure I am the only idgit that downloaded the files and took months to get everything done--I redid my I-129f form today as the other one was outdated--and upon further looking--so was the G325A! I am sure it wasn't that long ago that I downloaded them and I have seen that others have said previous editions were acceptable (for G325a that is). But I redid that one too! Not sure if it is something to look at for the rest of the Feb-Filers but ...maybe.

Anyone have advice?

Don't finalize your wedding plans until your visa is approved. It could take longer than you expect. That's my observation from reading posts here and seeing what at least one member went through when she'd paid a lot of nonrefundable money for her wedding and the I-129F process got delayed.

Also, study the guides and read posts here so that you'll know what to include in the application. But you're probably already doing that. smile.gif
