As you are filing K-1 the process is as follows:

(i) visa holder arrives in USA

(ii) apply for SSN at local SS Office (wait 7-14 days after arrival to 'get in the system")

(iii) get married within 90 days of arrival

(iv) file AOS paperwork and EAD (the work permit bit) and AP (if required)

now if my memory serves me correct if the EAD hasn't been issued within 90 days of the NOA1 for it then you can chase and get it issued ( someone else will confirm the exact timescales but a temporary EAD card is issued prior to you actually getting AOS interview) Mine took about 7weeks though not Florida.

Like everything in this process processing times vary from city to city and case to case.

In theory the EAD **should** be issued within 90 days of the date that your NOA is sent out. I think that the interim EAD proramme (where a temporary EAD is issued by your local office if the regular one is not issued within 90 days) has been scrapped by the INS. I'm sure there will be some other threads around about this.

In any case, plan for it take the full 90 days and hope you get lucky. Mine took nearly 5 months and I was denied a temp EAD even when the interim EAD program was still operating.

Hopefully you'll be lucky and you EAD will be processed quickly.

Best of luck

It really depends on so many factors. When my husband filed, Hurricane Wilma happened and everything was closed down for more than a week and then backlogs became EXTRAORDINARY for biometrics at our local center. So...just say a short prayer!
