What the @#$%
Only US citizen's can drive in the state of Pennsylvania
I certaintly hope that this is not true, maybe there is an acception that I do not know about but accroding the their website:
Proof of U.S. CitizenshipYou'll need to prove that you're a U.S. citizen in order to get a driver's license in Pennsylvania by producing one of the below documents. All must be original; photocopies will not be considered valid.
- United States birth certificate with raised seal
- Certificate of U.S. citizenship
- Certificate of naturalization
- U.S. passport
- U.S. military photo identification card
This really sucks for us.....I was hoping he could get his license some time this year.

Savanphil,
It might be worth going into a Driving Licence Center and asking. I filled out all the papers from the PennDot site, only to be told when I got there that I didn't have to, and all they needed was my husbands passport or birth certificate.
Good luck.
Maybe we should have Amish buggy's eh broma?

Because PA has an immigrant driving problem? That's a new one.
I thought the main problems with driving in Pennsylvania were the aging population, dodging Amish buggies, and the little-known fact that potholes return every year to Pennsylvania to spawn.

No maybe they should invest some money in a decent public transportation system that would allow some of the idiots on the road to take public transport!

It's not exclusive to immigrant drivers....jeez..get a sense of humour people!! I am 100% sure the poster (who is obviously joking so lighten up!) meant 'they' as in PA drivers as a whole, not 'they' as in immigrant drivers only. I know that because no one can drive or knows how to signal a turn in Charlotte, NC also (apart from me of course)

Remember, if you don't smile at jokes & you take everything seriously and be totally humourless, you might even get a job with the USCIS...wouldn't that be nice....!

Half the drivers here in Toledo/S Michigan/Detroit don't bother to signal either. It's like you'll be driving down the interstate and someone changes lanes in front of you and you're like "sure, come on over buddy!"

I know I'm late here, but I called the PA DMV a few weeks ago and posted this:
" checked out Pennsylvania's requirements and the website said US Citizenship should was required. I called and they said K1 visa holders need the following: Passport, I-94, Soc SEcurity Card, Marriage Certificate, Proof of Residency(utility bill, name on a lease, etc), and proof of spouse's citizenship. no, i'm not kidding. i drove for 8 years over there. they know how to drive and they are not on their cell phone - putting on makeup - playing with the cd player - yelling at the kids - reading a map - drinking starbucks - while driving.
the speed limit does exist even on the autobahn in cities primarily, but when you see the "130" sign with the line thru it watch out!

that's the only place i've seen where 150 mph is still considered slow.
