we first bumped into each in a chat room back in 2002 around this time... so we have known each for about 5 years now

I have known my husband all my life... he is the son of close family friends... my mum come to the USA as a schoolgirl on an exchange program and stayed with the family of my husbands mom...

I never had any interest in him until I came over to spend time recovering from major surgery at the invitation of his parents... and something just sparked between us...

We met in person back in April of 2003. We were just youngins then. I was 22 and he was 21! Seems so long ago...

The K-1 really was NOT our original plan (at the time I was on a GC, less than 2 years)--due to other factors, the GC "aged out" so I could apply for naturalisation (which meant "more options"--of which i chose K-1).

Our paths crossed in a Yahoo chat room in May of 2001. We met in person in late June of 2003, were married in April of 2005 and will celebrate our 2nd wedding anniversary on April 29th 2007.

Met November 2003....Engaged September 15, 2005....Married July 7, 2006. I know I know, more info than you asked for.

We actually met in person in winter of 2000 in the Czech Republic when we became friends but didn't start dating until summer 2004. We sent just a few emails to each other during the time in between. Then winter 2003 was the time everything changed - our emails got more and more frequent and soon were coming and going on a daily basis. That spring (2004) is when we fell in love... We met again in summer 2004 when I spent 3.5 months in CA, then a short week in February 2005 in Czech Republic and again whole summer in CA later that summer. I came over for a 10-month internship in 2006 which lead to our engagement at Christmas. I could have stayed and file for Adjustment of Status, but the K1 way seemed the more proper way to go. I wanted to see my family and even though we miss each other terribly now, we are looking forward to our future life together :-)

We met then only after a long time, really talked! I moved to his village in 1994 doing volunteer work. I was introduced to him along with hundreds of others. I just saw him in passing for years and we only started to really talk and get to know one another in 1998.

Good luck on your immigration journeys. What an interesting general poll and message thread, indeed! In answer to the question in this thread, my answer is:

My husband and I met online in 2000, met in-person in 2004, engaged in February (Valentine's Day) 2006, married in April (A day before his birthday) 2006, and the rest is a long history.....

So yeah, my husband and I have had many years together, and will have many more years of married life to come!
