Just talked to a friend of mine about financial planning stuff and she's going to retire at 55! I thought that was pretty young. My dad retired at 75 and that was pretty old. I'd say 72 for me would be fine, but I think I'd start working part time around age 65.

what say you?

I retired once at 38. It was boring. I went back to work.

Seriously, I'm ready to retire right now. I think I could find enough stuff to do in this world to not be bored. I'd travel all over the world, and do normal small stuff to make people smile. I think that reward would be better than a paycheck. But must admit, cash is nice smile.gif

I figure I have 4 more years of school if I do this dual program including law school...So I'll be 31 when I get into my career....work for 20 years, and then retire at 51.

Hubby plans to retire in his 70's. I don't know how many years you're supposed to work here in the States til you can reitre. I'm sure they won't count the years I've worked in Brazil lol, so anyway, no idea.

About 70 would be good... maybe start part time after 65 depending upon financial situation. Even if I had gobs of money I wouldn't want to retire, I'd get bored!

I would hope about 50, since I feel that is the age for women when rest and relaxation is needed. WOuld love to have more time for the grandkids and traveling or causes I support. But realistically probably 62....so I voted 54-64.

I'm hoping to semi retire when im 52. Cant imagine not working at all, i'd be too bored. Full retirement, probably in my 60's. My dad was 80 when he retired. To be honest i think that aged him not working like he was use to.

I can definitely see a change in my dad too. I don't know if it's just the aging process or directly related to not working but he used to be sharp as a tack and I find lately he forgets a LOT!

I think it's a combination of both actually. My dad wasnt able to drive anymore either due to his poor eyesite, so that definitely slowed him down so to speak.
