Hey Everyone -

I was wondering if anyone knew if calling the consulate every 2-3 weeks (to see if things are moving along) will hinder processing of my packet 3 to get the interview? The only reason I ask was because there was a slightly hold-up earlier in the process and I luckily called and got it fixed. Just wanted to see what other people did.

Thanks!

The montreal consulate received my pacakge 3 via courier on Jan 17th, I have called twice and it is still not in the system.
I plan on calling every 2 weeks to get the status of it.
Don't know why it takes so long. It seems like they do more of the K1 interviews then the K3.
When did you submit your pacakge 3? Was it to Montreal?

Just be polite when you call. They're generally polite in return. But understand that Montreal is slow, and has instituted new procedures. This could easily be the longest part of your journey, so don't be surprised if things drag on for months. Good luck!

Personall I prefered email, that way one has a record of it, so if you do got Mtl and they say this or that, and u were told via differently via email, you have proof!!

Thanks for the advice. They stated earlier that packet 3 was received on November 7th, so I have to imagine it's coming up soon (crossing my fingers). I've been trying to keep an eye on the list in this forum and the October people have all gotten interviews at the end of January!

Thanks!

I posted this in the Montreal waiting room thread. I asked the consulate about getting black-listed in an email and they said that multiple phone calls/emails don't count against you, but that you need to be patient.

I imagine they are also sorting through some of the DCF mess right now too.
