Hey fellow UK-ophiles -
Does the police certificate you apply for through scotland yard have an expiry date or have to have been issued either after the NOA2 or within a certain time from of a particular point in the process?
Does that question make sense?
I'm just looking for things we can do and when to schedule them to get done as we pass the time . . . .
I thought I read in this forum or the general form some detail on this subject but I can't find it anymore. Too much time reading too many threads.
Thanks.

It is my understanding that the police certificate is good for 1 year.

^^

I'm planning on having my fiance apply for his as soon as we get NOA2. Just to be sure its as 'fresh' as possible (but yet early enough for us to have it in plenty of time before we need it at the consulate).

Yeah, it was the fresh/stale angle I was concerned about. That sounds like good timing.
Thanks!

I had my fiance get his already. He received it in December. Hopefully they don't think anything of it. D*mn me and wanting to have everything done way in advance.
Great question!

I just applied for my police certificate in Scotland. I filled it in at my local police station paid the fee.
I called the processing unit today and said that I needed my certificate by Feb 28th. They were really helpful and said they would prioritise it.

What about the police certficate you got when applyed for the 1-129f petition? My fiance didn't get his until probably Sept, so would it still be good since we're thinking (planning and hoping!) that his interview will be around April or May. Or does he need to go through that process again?

There's no requirement to have one with the I-129F filing. I'm asking in advance for after we have our NOA2 and packet 3 asks him to get it.

Well, goodness gracious.. we got a police certificate thing for the I-129F! I wonder where I read that at to add it. Suppose we won't need a new one then. Good luck with the process!
