I have a question for you guys, I thought that the visa is only good for 90 days. Hani told me that his visa is stamped for July 29, 2007. He told me that the visa is good for 6 months. Is this something new or are we going crazy

Upon issue, the visa is supposed to be good for 6 months. I have heard of a few cases where the consulate apparently sat on it after issue, and didn't deliver it to the recipient for a while. But the normal is: it's good for 6 months from issue. This means (normally) that you have a 6 month window in which to travel to the U.S.

The 3-month-period is the window of time during which you have to marry AFTER arrival in the U.S. (or else the K-1 becomes invalid.)

Congrats again !

He can enter the US anytime for up to 6 months after the visa is issued. Once he sets foot in the United States, he has 90 days to marry.

This was a point that was very confusing to me. I never really did or said much about it, because it was a moot point. Mohammed's K1 visa was received the last week of December. The expiration date was 1/27/07. They only gave him one month, but as I said it wasn't an issue because we didn't waste a single day. I had always heard the beneficiary had 6 months.
