I'm wondering if he needs two police reports for the K-3 interview, one for his birth name, Mark, which was never used except on his birth certificate, and one for the name he's used since he was a month or so old, Gary (with Mark used as a middle name).

If the name Mark was never used, will they even have a record of it?

If you can offer any advice, thanks.

I am not sure how it works in th UK but when I did mine I had to include all names known by.

I got one Police certificate but it covered all my names... ( maiden and previous married name)

That is correct the application for a police report asks for other names used.

Thanks, both of you. I didn't realise that the subject access application had a space for 'other names used'. I told Gary to send in another request for his police certificate listing both names. We haven't had our petition approved yet, so he should have more than enough time to get a new copy.
