Dear Amy,

I must now really apologize for all of the confusion. We had initally been
informed by DHS/CIS headquarters that ALL open petitions regardless of
filing
date would be sent to DHS/CIS. However, headquarters has changed its stance
and
only petitions filed after July 27, 2006 will be sent to DHS/CIS. So,
fortunately for you, your husband's visa can be processed in Tirana.

I am sorry for all of the misinformation - as this is a new law, the
policies
and how they apply to our customers is still a bit of a work in progress.

Best regards,

Congratulations for you!

I originally filed my I-130 in June 2006 and have my interview in Montreal next week - I e-mailed them yesterday asking if the new law had any impact on my interview/visa and they replied that my case would not be affected/interview is still going ahead as scheduled.

Thanks

I'm just wondering... do you think my husband will get his packet 4 (interview date) soon?

You don't think we (or you) will go to the interview and THEN be told "Okay, now we need to send it to USCIS for a second Adam Walsh approval" do you????

Sorry, just getting anxious!

Yes, we did DCF in Canada early June 2006, received and sent packet 3 in early July to Montreal and we received our packet 4/interview date in December 2006. So our I-130 was approved before July 27th, no impact to our interview date next week and we should get our visa within a week or two of that.
Hopefully this is good news for others as well...
