I use the electric toothbrush and my dad's a dentist so yes oral hygiene is important.
Once I started using the electric toothbrush I couldn't go back to manual. It really cleans your teeth pretty good! My dad gave me this sonic thing but I can't use it 'cause it makes my head dizzy. It's supposed to be better than the regular electric oral b toothbrush but I just don't like the feel of it.

Oral hygiene is very important, the state of your mouth can be indicative of other serious health problems.
Just a manual toothbrush and floss for me, with some mouthwash for good measure. I've only a few cavities, my dentist once told me I have very decay resistant teeth, yay for me.

VERY IMPORTANT! Electric toothbrush, floss, AND mouthwash. I brush my teeth 3-5 times a day. I know that's a lot, but it's important to brush after waking up to get rid of halitosis, after each meal (when I eat 3 times a day), and before I go to bed.

Manual brush, floss and antibacterial mouthwash. I have great teeth, no cavities ever(knock on wood) but my gums are genetically crummy. Dentist told me I had the choice between this routine or no teeth by 45.

Aqua-sol floss, Glister brand toothbrush and toothpaste; also use diluted Glister oral rinse (it comes in a 60 mL bottle of CONCENTRATE--which means you get an easily portable bottle which contains equivalent of 1.5 L of Listerine/Scope/etc).

Manual toothbrush, electric toothbrush (although both of the last ones I bought broke

) and floss. I think taking care of your teeth is important, although I'll admit to not having done so quite so well in the past.

Halitosis

Yup brushing would cure that right up!Or go to a bad breathe clinic!

Manual toothbrush, floss, mouthwash morning and evening. In the evening I use a tongue cleaner - anyone else use one? It's amazing how much cleaner your mouth feels afterwards.

Am I the only one who needed to look up "miswak"?

(and how has the natural foods community missed *this* one?! Empire, here I come!)

I knew about miswak because my parents brought it when they did pilgrimage.
Although I never knew about the positive side effects. Thanks on the wiki link !

I use a tongue cleaner in the evening too! It is widely used in India (by those who are more modern that the usual neem tree twig used as toothbrush) but I didn't start till my dad brought a new one from USA when he visited me in India once.

My response includes "other":
So
- Rubber pick to clean out the "pockets"
- Interdental brush to clean out between my teeth where the larger gaps are
- Floss to clean between the rest of my teeth and the backs of the last molars
- Manual toothbrush
and
- Electric toothbrush on weekends until my 3 months is up on my last manual toothbrush.
Above routine is done EVERY day right after breakfast (big, chunky muesli bits)
At night time, just brushing with the manual brush is all that is necessary.
Do I think that oral hygiene is important?
Yes.
