My I 129 has been transferred to CSC, and I got an email today saying it is there pending. Anyone now if California is a good place to be? I hear about Vermont being fairly quick, anyone know much about California?

CSC has petitions from Nebraska and Texas sent to their service centre so a backlog of sorts causes this particular centre to be slow.

CSC is a LOT slower than VSC I'm afraid. Looks to be about 60-90 days for I-129F approvals based on the timelines here. Hopefully they will speed things up soon for all those lingering at CSC.

It is much slower than Vermont. Our I-129F took 4.5 months to approve (NOA2). We submitted our application just a few days after IMBRA came into effect, and they took a while to figure out what to do with all the cases submitted after IMBRA.

Well, I guess it is wait and see. I still feel better about the I 129 route though.

Stacey, it's definitely worth a shot.
If I had been in your position I would have done the same. I'm curious to see how long approved I-130 get forwarded after filing the I-824... I don't think anyone's here has been forwarded yet after filing, but I'm not sure.

Our I 824 hasn't been touched since November 11 2006. When they got it.
It makes me mad- it is a $200 piece of paper telling them to move a file, why does that take 6 months (who knows how long) to do that?

have you tried contacting the NVC and asking them , if you send a copy of the NOA1 for the I-824 and your NOA2 for the I-130, maybe they would have the file forwarded , rather than waiting. I read somewhere about that being done in employment cases, so I know it is possible. Its always worth the shot at asking.
I'll also dig up the article I was reading if I can and post the link.

We transferred from Nebraska to CSC and were in and out in 79 days. Not nearly as fast as Vermont, but not bad at all.

79 days seems like nothing after all we have been through so far! I would be very happy with anything less than 4 months.
