Hi - I had my EAD approved November 1 but to this date I havent received any letters from the USCIS.
Just want tofind out how it works exactly because every time I call the 1800 # or try to make the info pass app. they just tell me something completely different every time crying.gif
Anyway if somebody could help me with few questions I would be very grateful :

1. After the INS approves the EAD how many letters do they send ?? 1 or 2 ? the approval notice which is followed by the EAD card ?? or do they just send the approval notice first and tell you what you have to do to get the EAD card ??

2. Can I apply with this EAD card for a SS # even if I dont have a green card yet ??

thanks, EVA

Just wondering what do you mean by haven't received any letters from USCIS?
AS far as I know...you first received 3 or more CRIS e-mails approving your EAD if you have an online account and after a week or so your EAD card should have it in the mail.

I can understand the agony of waiting and how USCIS works so badly...good luck!!!!

If they approved it in November and you don't have the card yet, you should make an INFOPASS appointment asap to find out why you haven't rec'd it. It may be lost in the mail, or someone may have stolen it. It should only take a week to get to you once its approved, make that appointment soon!

Hi,
what I mean is that they approved my application apparently November 1 as I found out on line but I havent received any letters from them or e-mails. One INS officer is telling me that first they send only an approval notice where they also told you what to do in order to get the EAD card and then another officer is telling me that they send 2 letter - one approval notice and the other one with the actual EAD card inside ?? so I am a little confused especially because I havent received anything and now they are telling me if I havent received it I have to apply all over again, pay all the fees again and wait again so any advice ??
thanx

Hi, Ladiablita! We have exactly the same situation. My husband applied his AOS and EAD on May 2006. We received email from Cris back in August 03, 2006 that EAD has been approved and ordered the card. Then another email received on August 17 saying that they mailed the notice... UNFORTUNATELY, up to this time we never received a notice or the card. Until, recently I found out they revised the EAD application form and read in the instruction if you did not received the card you have to apply again and THE GOOD THING IS you dont have to pay the fee again. January 20 my husband mailed the 2nd application but never heard from USCIS if they received it but I know I know they received it because it was registered mail.

yep they are driving me crazy I still havent received anything and every time I call the 1800 # they tell me something completely different ... anyway I applied again also - no fee or evidence required , if you call the 1800 they can do service request for you when aftrer 30 days or so they should investigate and send you maybe the approval notice again or they told me to make the info pass app. and ask for some "intherm" or something like that employment authorization which I should be eligible for. Well we will see have to wait good luck
