I've read that form DS-230 is supposed to be included in Packet 3. However, my husband's Packet 3 does not contain the DS-230. It contains the DS156 & DS 157. Did anyone else going through the Cairo embassy have the same experience? Also, does Cairo want AOS 134 or 186 and does this have to be sent to the consulate before the interview or presented at the interview? They didn't specify.

My fiance's packet 3 also only contained ds156 and 157. I did read that he would need ds230 but it was not included and not mentioned in the checklist that was sent to him so we didn't send it in.
I sent him my I-134 but our case is a fiance visa, not sure if it's different for your type. Maybe someone else can help more on that question. I sent it before the interview, so he sent it in with the rest of the required items.
Good luck with everything!

With the CR1 the DS230 would be generated by NVC and sent to you...I believe. The packet 3 does not contain it.

I don't think there's a normal time for Cairo. From what I've seen here on the boards Cairo is usually pretty long. I'm not looking forward to it myself.

you can do a timeline search using Egypt as the country just to get a feel for it. I've seen people on here get their visa in a week (though it was a woman) and those like togetherforever who waited on AP for like what, 9 months or so? I think it's basically the luck of the name if it's a muslim male and it's much shorter if it's a woman or a christian male.

AP has got me worried......and I was soooooooooooooooooooooooo happy when the petitions were approved. Looking back, that was probably the easy part. My patience is definitely being tested.
