Lately there has been a huge increase in posts that come from e-mail forwards.
Do you enjoy them?

I have to admit I have posted stuff like that from time to time when I really think that others will enjoy it. I think several threads a day is a bit much. But, not against TOS.

Not really. But then again there's tons of stuff I post that most members don't enjoy either. So it's fair.

I really can't stand them - or the "what kind of flower are you" kinds of topics. I do not waste my time reading them. . .

I do my fair share also so I am guilty. I dont send but what i like to think are good words, or something i think cute/funny that the rest might enjoy. I dont mind the little games, what flower, what candy etc i think its my choice, their avail. if i want to open and play i will if i think a waste of time just overlook it and go on.

They don't bother me on here so much, as I can see from the thread title that it's one to ignore. But when my mother, who has only lately discovered the wonders of email, sends me about 20 of the things per day, and gets all offended when I tell her that I don't even open them... that annoys me MUCH more!

I think it'd prolly be a good idea for a 'joke' thread, a 'quiz' thread (I"m guilty of not doing that, lol) or summat like that to consolidate the twaddle to leave room for other twaddle

It can prolly get annoying if there are mult threads a day....and I know I've done it too so

Yeah, like maybe a "Time Wasters" forum or something like that.

Some I like. It's a way to pass time now that I can't work or really do anything and I'm stuck at home almost 24/7.

That's how I feel. Especially because most of them are ones I actually saw back then.

I do have some joke threads going already
when I post jokes I try and post them in one thread instead of making separate posts for each joke or story...

Oh thank God somebody addressed this!

I wouldn't mind them so much if those posting them would be more selective.
I have posted a lot of new topics - I'm not shy about that, but I do try to post things that I believe will either spark a good discussion or things that are related to relationships. When I first perused through OT (back in June of last year), I observed some of the regulars who were good at posting threads that would get a discussion going and I've tried to do the same.

so who decides what things are worth posting and what things are not??
we are all different people here and we all like different things

I don't like all the political threads but I just stay away from those....
Like I mentioned in my earlier post, I try and posts jokes etc.. all in one thread..... not a separate thread for each joke....

I hold them in the same disdain as signatures that take us too much space with photos. At least I can choose not to read threads if the topic clearly indicates a waste of my time. The photo signatures show up everywhere.

Certainly. Which is why some posts get a lot of traffic, while others simply get bumped into obscurity.

Not if you switch 'em off, like I do. Although I do miss being able to see people's timelines in their sigs...
