I was searching the Air France website and they have tickets to Cario by New York on sale for about $352. I am not sure if this is good but if it was Morocco it would be great. Well just thought I would share the news.

They usually have a Valentine's Day sale this time of year. I've used that several times to go to Morocco.

Hi,
Me and my husband sent our I 129F out in Jan 19. After I finish my semester I want to go back and live with him until we come back together. Does anyone have opinions about whether that is okay to do. We have a lawyer here. So I guess that if I give him all required papers, that we would be okay to go? Any estimates from Cairo people on how long a K3 is taking?

That sounds ok as long as you have someone here in the U.S. as a contact for USCIS. Do you ave any concerns that your move will affect the I-134? I imagine that since you are a student, that you probably have a joint sponsor, in which case this should not be a problem.
It's very hard to estimate the time for a K3 through Cairo. Some people wait for security checks post interview for months and months.

I already booked my flight with Lufthansa . . . DFW-Frankfurt-Cairo . . . easier than going DFW thru New York then Paris . . . but probably a bit cheaper on Air France.

And, YES, it is cheaper to fly from the East Coast . . . I see good fare offers from NYC, Washington DC, Atlanta . .. but when you add on the extra flight from DFW . . . it goes up another $300-400 dollars.

I wish! It could happen . . . but not planning it just yet. It would be a BIG celebration for our 2nd anniversary if that would happen. He already thinks that he is going to drive my new car!!!

I have to tell him the rule about the new car . . . .

How long is his visa good for?
I would LOVE to grab that airfare but no way could I ever leave the kids again so soon after coming back. Sucks too 'cause when I go in the summer it's gonna cost about $1400.

Well I didn't get that kick azz price from air france but I did just get a pretty good one from alitalia using airgorilla.com. That's the cheapest site so far that I've seen. To leave at the last week of August and come home Sep 1 will be $1,025 including tax and fees.

It'll be hot as hell but I don't care...gives me something to look forward to!!!!!!

Yes, heat exhaustion, hehehe!!! But, seriously, the worst part about going in the summer is trying to do anything during regular daylight hours! So "BE EGYPTIAN" . . . get up late and stay out all night. It is wonderful at about 10pm and everyone is out . . . so you can go sit at the El Fishawy and smoke shisha or go to any of the cafes that are on the square going into the Khan el Khallili on the side where El Fishawy is located. Great people watching opportunities!

I went to live with my husband after we got married also. I came back and I am glad I did because I am his sponsor and have to show income for him to get into the USA. If you are not having to do the Affidavit of support, go for it.

I filed for K3 10 months ago and counting. Interview was Dec. 6, processing began Dec. 15. You probably won't have any other involvement on your end unless you get an RFE. However, when it gets closer to packet 3/interview time you'll need the I134 plus proofs of income (and one for any cosponsor) plus any proofs of relationship you want him to bring to the interview.

End of August...crikey!! The humidity in Alex is a killer that time of year. Be prepared for misery. I LOVED Egypt my first trip...came home hating it after the second because of the summer heat and humidity, lack of a/c, etc.

Lufthansa is generally a better airline then Air France. Better pricing, better service. I have learned my lessons, I only fly with Lufthansa. I always hear people telling me stories of 'deals' they got with other airlines... but I just laugh inside, since Lufthansa (going throu an agent or online, not Lufthansa direct) is always much cheaper. I only use Lufthansa for International, Sky Europe in Europe and in the US United Airways (this one only cos of my points)

This is why I am going most of the time in Feb-March timeframe . . . I went once in the summer and decided that is not for me. I was going to try for October/November/December but kept having to move my dates . . . so now I am going in Feb. again. FYI, it can still get to 90 even then, lol, but typically it doesn't. What the Egyptians call "cold" is usually not so bad for me and I live in Texas so you'd think I wouldnt squawk about the heat . . . but we are used to our a/c here for sure!!! I guess it is all relative.

I wonder why... Air Italia has the worst customer service, even with the Air France merger...not much better. ANd you never get your points.
Actually a BiG FYI for all flying with Air France (or any SkyTeam Alliance) and using the frequent flyer point system, you missed your flight, your flight is over-booked or delayed you will not get the points. Even if it their fault. They only give points for pre-arranged flight schedules...no exceptions or adjustments! I learned this last year after fighting with them for 2hours on the phone

I think so far NORTHWEST airlines has the cheapest price I checked it and it was cheaper for me than going with Airfrance even with thier SALE..
I can get a ticket with NWA for 800$ including taxes round trip from Detroit ..but in Airfrance I checked the sale you mentioned it's about 750 round trip from NY ..don't forget they are horrible too..

I always wondered why they don't give passengers parachutes. Wouldn't that make sense? To me it would make more sense than a floatation device since by the time you plummet down to the ocean you're already dead.

You know I must say that I beria looks pretty good too. I do not like it when I get to France but the flight to and from the US is great. However going and coming from Morocco...I will just say I have to bite my tongue. But Ibreia is three flights instead of two for me. They give about a 200-400 dollar difference for the time period I want to go and the flight time is about the same. But Air France has good food and I get to practice my french. I am also taking my son how will be displaying his new lanuage skills this time around-if we go with Air France. But I am really, really leaning towards the 400 dollar discount.
One thing that was mention was the Northwest was better, but they are both with KLM right? I am not sure but I have the flyer program and the group seems to have a good program. You may end up on a Air France plane if they are working together.
