Don't know yet what we'll do today. It's still early times though. I'm going back to bed!

Have a great one, everyone!

Mohammed is at work and I'm just relaxing a bit. Laundry is going and I'm going to clean up a bit before Moh comes home. He sort of evokes "mess" everywhere he goes so this is a good opportunity to enjoy some order. The sun is finally shining here and it looks like it will be a beautiful day. Hope everyone has a wonderful Saturday.

Good morning! So everyone is off running errands or has gone back to bed? I'm cleaning closets today- finding a home for things that seem to just get stuffed away in the closets. It's raining again arrrggghhh!

back to bed??? Not me . . . the cats won't let me . . .they get charged up around 5:30am and want me to feeeeeeeeeed them. All that ruckus and they nearly always trip me up going down the stairs . . . then they hardly eat anything at all. Is it just because they want to see the full bowls of food? They all went back to sleep or out on the balcony upstairs (enclosed for indoor kitties) to watch the birds.
Sun is shining! I have errands to run . . . cardboard boxes to drop off at recycling center then a pedicure and . . . . bunch of other things that i need to make a list for!

I am at a loss here for what to do. I guess make a list. I could start shopping for gifts for Mohammed's family. A few laps around the mall would be good exercise. Hubby just left for work and I have 13 hours to myself.

My betta fish is sick

I rescued it from Walmart. It was living in a little dish. So I brought it home and put it in my 29 gallon tank with my platy and mollies. Well, it was an attack fish and killed my white fish!!!!! To save my other fish I bought a $20 divider to keep mr. betta separate. Well, that side of the tank got too dirty and it took room away from the other fish. Now comes a $25 two gallon tank for mr. betta to live in. Three weeks later he's looking sick and weak from being in a little tank. I get out my old 10 gallon tank and set it up for him. (a lot of work here for a $3 fish!) I put him in the larger tank and now he's sideways and not looking very well. I don't want to mercy kill him cuz he might get better, but as of now, I don't know if he will make it. to be continued...........

Poor fish. I have rescued many of those beta fish from wal-mart. They have lived a long life, but then again, i don't buy the males because they fight. I always buy females because they can live together with other fish an not fight. You have definetly given your all to save him. Keep us posted.

Oh Jackie that happened to our betta (named Anise). One night he started turning white, looking dead, falling to the bottom of the tank. He would come around again, and go through it all again. Next day he became a sideways fish, stopped eating and was never fully upright again. After a week or two, my husband ended up mercy killing him because he thought the fish was suffering. Hope yours turns out better!

For a lack of a better word, his 'neck' is brown and swollen. I think I put him in the new water too soon

and either the chlorine in the water hurt him or the water was too hot. This was yesterday, how long do I wait til I euthanize him?

Happy saturday everyone. It's so grey here in New York/New Jersey I think we're getting snow today/tomorrow. Anyways, I'm not about doing much at all today. It's the first weekend back since seeing my fiance. Last saturday this time I was crying because I knew I'd be leaving the next day. Its always hard the first few days back I guess, but at least this time I came back and filed our packet.
I may try to catch a movie this afternoon - I don't know why I prefer going to the movies alone once in a while.
Enjoy everyone.

Beta fish actually do well in small places, it doesn't matter if the tank is large or small. Maybe you could set some water out tonight and put him in a smaller tank?

That's my favorite too!!!! My husband hates horror movies, so I either go see them with my best friend or alone. Havne't been able to see any since the Texas Chainsaw Massacre prequel though.
The Hitcher got pretty bad reviews. I liked the original of that. I think The Messengers and Hannibal Rising will be good, but I don't think they're out yet.
Have fun whatever you decide to see!

Boo hiss I'm at work today for a few hours. Youssef decided to stay up until 3am watching a movie (mind you he was not taking care of the baby - he was sleeping in the bedroom with me), and then at 8am this morning when everyone was getting up he said "Oh I'm so tired, I hardly slept at all." I just wanted to say "well ya dummy you have to sleep with the baby sleeps!" But i'm so nice I let him sleep in until 11:30 but then I had to get moving to go to work. Tonight I'm making msemmen to keep in the freezer so he can pop some out during the week while I'm at work. Tomorrow I'm going to make a chicken b'stilla, harirra and some salads to keep in the fridge for the week. I might make some hummus too. We'll see how things go. So few hours of work, off to the store and home. I might clean the house tonight/tomorrow too (folded 5 baskets of laundry this morning argh!!)

I think you need to teach your husband how to help you around the house!!!!
You have a new baby and you're back to work and still doing everything!
I think you're going to burn out fast if you keep it up.

I'm pooped already - gonna try to lay down before I have a private class in 1 1/2 hrs. Said's cooking lunch. We got him a cell phone today and did some grocery shopping and went to the farmer's market. Having some friends over for brunch tomorrow - that should be fun! It's raining and cold here *again* today. We had 2 days of sunshine and before that, 13 solid days of gloom & rain. Now the rain's back again... Yuk! I'm off to rest a while! Later...

I have myspace and that is where Rida and I met. As for the fish, did you treat the water when you changed the tanks? I have always treated the water before putting them into new water to help neautralize the chlorine and anything else that may bother them.

Hello everybody! After spending almost the last 48 hours straight running around the hospital like a bandit trying to save my patient, he's doing better today!!!! He might make it after all. It was an awful 2 days, but if he makes it it will all be worth it. I just woke up from my post-call sleep and we're going to do some errands, then celebrate our anniversary. It's tomorrow, but Maj has to work, so tonight's the night.

No freakin' way can I work two jobs for more than a few weeks!!! I miss my free time already and this is only day 1!!! I did find out how to log in from home though so I'll be able to do that at night when I'm home from my other job. I wouldn't even do it at all but the guy who replaced me walked out on them with no notice and cost reports are due mid February so I feel bad.
I gave them a list of demands but haven't heard back on whether they'll accept it or not. If not no biggie since I'm happy where I am, though lemme tell ya since I left there a year ago they moved to a new building and the place is sweeeet!!!!!! Feels like you're walking into the Four Seasons!!! I went into the place today in sweats and felt like I should go home and get all dolled up even though it's Saturday!!
