nope, K3 is not eligible for temp EAD. Plan to be bored for about 3 months minimum.

are you saying . My wife who arrived in NY Jan 15 th , and recieved SS card 2 weeks later , Will be waiting for green card for 3 months ????

I don't know why it should scare you. I mean it just means that she has to wait three months before she has to work. Are you unable to take care of her financially for three months or something?

I mean in my case it will be a pain but it's a nice opportunity for the spouse to go to an ESL class and get acclamated to life in the US in general. I would think it would take three months just to get settled in anyways.

From your timeline, you have gone DCF (direct consular filing). This is different from K1/K3 (entry visa with the opportunity to adjust status while in the USA) as you will have finished processing overseas and your wife will enter as a resident. Her card should arrive within a few weeks.

I live in NYC and daily expenses are not cheap . + family obligations in Indonesia , not ez . especially because she already has job offers.


I was told , passport visa stamp was equilavant to green card . until , it arrives . but ??? no one else thinks that .
